Exclusive by Alan Nixon (Daily Mirror Barnsley are at the centre of a £10 million takeover tussle between an Arab group and wealthy Italians. The Oakwell club could be sold in the next few weeks as the bidding hots up and talks between the parties reach a crucial stage. The Italian companywho already have strong spots links in their own country have been interested for weeks and thought that they were close to snapping up the Championship outfit, However a Barnsley official has been in touch with the Qataris who have also been in discussions with Yorkshire rivals Leeds United about a potential buy out at Elland Road. The Middle Eastern investors have been making different offers to chairman Ken Bates for months but have yet to commit to a purchase. Now they could switch to the smaller "easier" takeover at Barnsley. The Tykes have been ho;ding on in the second tier on a low budget and have attractive facilities to interest any new buyers. A takeover spells bad news for Hill as both suitors have their own management teams in mind if they are successful in pulling off the coup.(END) Money we need but not a new manager !.
I don't know money so we can buy some fantastic world class players and Harry as manager champions league in 3 season. (I jest)
My initial thought was "wind-up", just doesn't read right. Unless the OP backs it up with a link, it'll keep thinking that way.
just been on skysportsnews lets face it, mr cryne has been looking to sell for ages, i'd trust him to only sell if it only looked good for BFC
That's the first thing that occurred to me Plus anyone wanting rid of Hill and replacing him with a (presumably) out-of-work management team would be mental. Even with new owners the club would still have to operate under financial fair play rules.
Re: That's the first thing that occurred to me Sounds like a load of ******** to me. Even if it happened I am sure they wouldn't get rid of Hillcroft. BFC is a decent investment opportunity imho. No debt. Average fanbase. Second tier. Good facilities. Good manager in place. Stable club.
Very true But they are going to get more stringent and we are currently setting an example. To move away from that would be a real shame.
Why can't ya see em gettin rid off hillcroft if do get taken over look at Sean dyche did a good job at Watford last season
