    Mido will emerge as a lean,mean striker to partner Davies up front and score 30 goals to take us over 100 points for the season. You have to be positive and optimistic or you may as well crawl under a stone and stay there until May.

    Thanks for that Mr C. I am an ex miner and you young-uns wont have a clue what my user name means. Before the bitch Thatcher destroyed our mining community villages in the 1980s a vast majority of us worked down the pits. It was rough but the banter was brilliant and we drank together and looked after each other. A snap tin was something we took down the pit to open containing a meat or jam sandwich in a metal container and we had to crouch in a confined space to eat it. Cigarettes were a no no down the pit and we were searched a bit like at airports nowadays so a lot of us took down chewing tobacco (Baccy) down the pit as a substitute. Hence my user name. I am new to these forums but I will give it a go and see how it goes. I dont want to be sworne at. We used to keep pit language away from our kids and families. Sadly that seems to have gone

    No I got it, that's why I liked it! And all respect to you. I'm not that young, they were laying everybody off when I came of age and there was nothing left for us thanks to the T**ies. that's why there are a lot of blokes my age who live away and have done for years. I love hearing about the industry though, could be sworn enemies with a bloke on top - but would risk your life for him downstairs. Where would you find that nowadays? Not in Mr. Cameron's world, that's for sure. Welcome to the board Mister! :)

    Yes I know Osset I was going over the top but lets look forward to the quality coming in from our injured players to add to what we have already. Lets be positive and look forward to a cracking season.

    We are getting a bit mixed up here Mr C. I knew you understood where I was coming from. I just wanted to explain to our young- uns( I am not patronising young lads by the way) that our football heritage is linked to our mining community and nowadays that we are all Reds in history and that, maybe, us old gits have different values to present day fans in respect of the language used in public and that used at home. By the way,being new on here, is that a picture of your wife or is it someone an old git doesnt know. If it is your wife you are one luckyRed

    That is indeed Mrs C correct, not technically wifey but one day maybe. You are the first to ask who that is, though she's met a few of the London lot.
    I suspected she reads the rubbish I post on here, though she swears blind she doesn't. So I posted her picture, knowing that she would freak out and make me take it down if she see's it. But then of course she'd drop herself in it! The stand-off has been going on about 3 weeks now! Blummin childish I know. :)

    Well said sir... Barnsley FC is inherently linked to it's past (as are all clubs) and we all treasure the past as much as we like to move forward. We have a great history here (again, as many clubs do) and so in the light of present rumours regarding takeovers it's important that the board make the 'correct' decision regarding both a respect for the past as well as keeping their eye fixed on the future.
