    Just been emailed by a leeds fan reckoning that Bates is interested in BFC once he has sold leeds. Anyone heard any rumours or is he making it up? I do hope its the latter.

    Yeah its people on twitter taking the p*ss, they were at it on the Leeds United mad site too. Do you really think Cryne would sell to Bates? Firstly he's not an Arab or Italian.

    Obviously with it being a big wind up on the internet and social media networks it will now make it into the sports news...

    but until mathew harding turned up and invested chelsea were going nowhere fast.... courtesy of bates , hardings untimely death gave roman abramovic a chance to invest and thats when uncle ken copped the cash...

    Being a **** and overcharging for a match ticket aside he's alright Ken. He saved a struggling Chelsea who without his hardwork wouldn't have been attractive to Roman to buy, thus making them as big as they are today. Took over Leeds in a similar situation of money worries and backed the manager to get them out of the third tier. Also not afraid of speaking his mind which is good.

    Bates had Matthew Harding on board. Without Harding I think Chelsea would've gone down a very different path.

    Harding made Chelsea the club it was prior to abramovichs involvement.

    As for Leeds, I bet he has spent a pittance from his own pocket

    That was the sticking point in the negotiations I heard. They wanted him gone (naturally as he is a twohat), he didn't. Maybe Bates has won? Lad at work reckons it's a takeover though.
