Keith Hill's record as BFC manager - Played 59 Won 17 Drawn 11 Lost 31 . . . . . . . . . . . . Let's have a look at a few of our previous gaffers' records. . . . . . . . . . . . . Steve Parkin's record - Played 44 Won 12 Drew 14 Lost 18 Mark Robins' record - Played 92 Won 29 Drew 25 Lost 38 Simon Davey's record - Played 138 Won 45 Drew 30 Lost 63 Dave Bassett's record - Played 84 Won 38 Drew 18 Lost 28 John Hendrie's record - Played 54 Won 19 Drew 18 Lost 17 Mel Machin's record - Played 185 Won 64 Drew 49 Lost 72 Alan Clarke's record - Played 316 Won 119 Drew 94 Lost 83 Danny Wilson's record - Played 201 Won 74 Drew 55 Lost 72 . . . . . . . . . . . . Having read those, what have we realised? Do these records prove much? I mean, take the first two managers listed, for instance. Looking purely at their WDL records, one could suggest that Mark Robins was no better than Steve Parkin. Luckily (for me anyway) I don't judge a manager purely on how many games they've won or lost. Unless we never won a game, then clearly there would be summat wrong. IMO, the judgment on this particular manager will be made more fairly, from January to May 2013. He built us a competitive squad last summer, and even his detractors must acknowledge he's done similarly this summer also. However, last January and the loss of a lot of key players affected the side badly. Let us hope we don't suffer the same fate, and that we this time retain most of our key laikers, so THEN we'll be able to see if Keith Hill can be the first manager of BFC in years, to end the season respectably - in other words, not losing nearly every game.
By the way, the stats I used came from Soccerbase, and so I'm not sure how accurate they are. Especially, when they reckon Super John was in charge of us 54 times. How'd he do that then? Don't recall a great cup run under him, and he was dismissed before the seasons end...
After Drinkwater, Vaz Te and Butterfield went or were injured I dont think we were that competetive so squad questionable for me. You seem to be disregarding one set of records and creating a competition that Keith could do better than his predecessors in.
If you're referring to me, mate, you're wrong. I'm not saying he's better than anyone. I just think it would be fairer and easier to judge him after this January onwards. See if owts changed.
Let's sack him instantly and ask all fans to chip in so we can get mc carthy down! Or hope that these rug ead's buy us and employ Sven or redknapp, that way we'll win all our games and in two years time be in't champions league
Hi New to this Forum, Just like to comment, Hill has achieved his wins with little or no money, He is doing a fantastic Job, Been a fan now for over 50 yrs, And with Hill I think we are onto something special, I can only watch and listen to the reds on wigiwig and Pottys website as I live 3500 miles away, I get truly miffed when we lose but its all part of the game.
