Been to Elland Road today and feel proud of our team. Very dodgy penalty and one other shot on target for Leeds. We had four good chances and two where we should have scored. Dawson and Dagnall who have hads loads of criticism on this board were very good, Stones is a star of the future, Steele can't even get in the team, Wiseman looks better and better and he's playing out of position. Golbourne is coming on leaps and bounds. I felt we needed a bit more from our front players to turn possession into better chances and Mellis and Davies didn't have their greatest afternoons but we certainly deserved a point at least and we suffered yet again to another suspect referee who was weak. We could easily have sneaked that one nil. I had hoped for more than 11 points at this stage from our first ten games but only the Peterborough performamce disappointed me (Didn't go to Wolves or Brighton though). The next ten games take us to 1st December and I'm betting we will more than double our tally and have more than 22 points. Proud of our team and our club and Keith and Flicker are improving us individually and collectively.
Hope we do have more than 22 otherwise we are on course to scrape to 50 points of course assuming the now traditional post Christmas collapse does not occur
'Traditional post christmas collapse'? - its only happened once!! Do you honestly think we are a relegation team?
Has it eck. It's happened for the last three seasons!! Playing like we did against Posh, yes. Playing like second half against Ipswich and how we sounded today no.
Hope it's not an omen, but "the Arsenal of the North" were reputed to be playing good football last season before their relgation to League One.
Last season was the first one you have seen at Oakwell wasn`t it? It must have been if you think that matey !!!
My concern is that we're playing well, but losing. We battered Blackburn, but lost. We battered Leeds, but lost. We battered Ipswich, but scraped a draw. It's encouraging we are dominating games but unless you pick the points up, when a run of bad performances inevitably comes, we'll not have the points cushion we should have. I still believe we don't score enough goals. Stick the best back five in world football in the team, dont score and we'll still lose 1-0 sometimes. We need to start taking chances otherwise our good football, honest hard work and admirable attitude will only see us heading downwards. We're not a relagation team, but if you lose matches, you become one.
We have had a tough start to the season and there have only really been a couple of disappointments along the way. We will start to pick up better results, I think we are good enough to have a decent run. Agree about the missing of chances, we have just got to hope that Mido or maybe Silva can add a few more goals.
Yes, good post. Theres a lot of good football and the team look more compact as a rule than last year but we arent hitting the net
I don't think we have collapsed like we did last season before. I'd say the majority of our performances show we are a good team, getting better, that can hold our own in this division and entertain our fans.
I did go against Peterborough and the team were a bit off that night. I prefer to judge our team and our players over a series of games rather than hone in on the poorest performance and lambast them for it.
