Sticks to his principles when it comes to the style of football we're playing. So far this season, the team has played poorly in two out of twelve league and cup games. The biggest problem, in my opinion, is we're not putting way enough of the chances our play is creating. If we can increase that percentage, it is my belief we'll gradually move up the league. Many viewpoints on the quality of the manager, the team as a whole and individual players in particular appear to fall into rather extreme camps just now. For example, a player isn't allowed to be simply out of form in a series of matches or a single game, he's instantly labelled a poor player (or any other extreme adjective). I don't see that altering too much until we achieve a greater level of consistency when it comes to accumulating points.
It is my opinion we're an attractive team to watch, the players are fully committed, we'll not be involved in a relegation battle, we're now producing young lads through the Academy capable of playing at this level of football and all this has been done on an extremely small, tight budget. A couple of defeats won't sway my stance. I believe in the manager and his principles. As it is only my opinion, though, this can't be contrived as factual, nor an absolute. Neither can I claim my opinions have more credibility than anyone else. Others hold differing and polarised views to me, which is their right. But it doesn't mean I have to agree.

Well I agree with your considered view. I'm sure a few will pick away at every detail but I agree we are on track and within the limits of our size and revenue we are doing very well.

Even if someone doesn't agree with me

I hope I won't ever resort to abusive, patronising, condescending replies to them, simply for having an alternative view.

    Re: Evil swine

Our football is very good but we seem to want to pass it too much rather than be more direct to the goal, but if we continue like this we will surely pick up more than enough points to remain in the league

I said it a couple of weeks ago when we beat Bristol - had chances but didn't put them away. At this level we have to take more chances than we are - still need a striker with Davies . I like dagnall but strikers need to put the ball in the net in at least 1 in 3 games!!!

    For me

One area where we're lacking is pace up front. If we had a player offering that option, a quick pass from midfield to send him away would be a positive alternative. At the moment, I prefer us to retain possession until we create an opening, rather than knocking the ball long. As for having a target man, Harewood appears to be our only choice at the moment and, as yet, he hasn't managed to hit the standards he showed whilst on loan. If, or when, he does, a long ball every now and then may give the opposition another problem to deal with.
    Just my opinion.

Many managers have change their style in search of points and in most cases this has sealed their doom and put us through the mill of having to watch dire negative football. I can't see this management team having to down that line.

    You know me too well

Keep smiling Kev. When you lose your sense of humour, there's no hope for the rest of us.

With 1 win in 6, dropping down the table towards the relegation zone, back to a minus goal difference and four away points during the 10 months of 2012 i'd take scrappy horrible to watch victories right about now. Not bothered how we win but we've gotta start winning soon. Granted we've only played bad in three games (Brighton, Wolves, Posh) but goals win games not pretty possession football.

But what evidence is there to suggest that "scrappy, horrible" performances would bring improved results? Maybe Hill is extracting the maximum from the available budget? Name me a manager who you genuinely believe would do better...

Am not sure if EN`s top 5 posters is a monthly thing and ever changing or if its for the lifetime so far of the posters contribution towards the messageboard.
