I need a new account, no frills or owt, and I need it before Thursday. So if I go into town tomorrow, which bank is best bet, and what would I need to take with me etc?
Hope you can help (not you Chico)

    Nationwide.
Coop - will give accounts to people who have recently been discharged from insolvency.

Avoid halifax, tsb, rbs group and shitander

I be suprised if any of the banks would touch a bad risk like you mr w hitey.

Have you tried under the floorboards.... Or have you burned them already to keep warm!?

I've got a normal 'no frills' account with Barnsley building society and it serves is purpose perfectly. The only downside is that its bank book only and they shut at 12:00 on a Saturday but its only like a secondary account so it doesn’t cause me any inconvenience. My main account is with Barclays but I’m not sure you could class it as ‘no frills’.

Coop's on Peel Square opposite the underground bogs (just about next to the White Heart (or whatever it's called now)) - they'll also give you a Coop Visa card and Membership which gives you some money back vouchers. Only problem is their ATM is quite often bolloxed so you have to go inside or elsewhere to get cash.
