Here go's. First and foremost I'm no racist and I'm happy to live and let live wether people are white black pink or green. After reading an earlier post regarding today's rally in Rotherham it appeared that anyone who dared to form a opinion that was slightly right wing was shot down in flames. Personally I think the edl and bnp are deluded. I drove through Rotherham today and the calibre of people that was with the edl looked embarrassing, most of them looked as if they'd struggle to fasten there show laces never mind attend a political rally. But somewhere down the line things have got to change in this country. Why is it that when anyone from this country dares to voice there views and opinions there automatically branded racists and fascists? Like I've said previously I think the way certain groups go about there demonstrations are totally wrong but unlike the majority who sit back and let issues go by there standing up for what a lot of people in this country think but haven't the balls to say so. I've just watched a video from a parrade of English soldiers down south, it was marred by ethnics (and some English) shouting obscenities at them and calling them murderers, now if this happened in a Muslim state would we get away with this? The answer is no. Ethnics spouting this sharia law, if they want to live by there Barmy rules then go back to where there accepted, but dont fetch it here. We live in a society where it's frowned upon to have a view, maybe it's time to get our voices back. Please share your views. (no doubt I'll get branded a racist for this post but freedom of speech and all that)
I think you'll find that most people criticise racist and hateful views whether it is a white christian spouting them or an asian muslim. Some people just choose to ignore criticism of muslims or asian people because then when someone criticises a white person for something they can claim that a muslim would have got away with it. Look at the poppy burning incident. I didn't meet one single person who defended them, everyone I know slammed them for it. Yet when an English person burned a koran and people again complained the response from the likes of the EDL was 'as soon as a white guy does something he gets condemned but people turn a blind eye to muslims doing it' it's utter ******** to be honest.
I was in a Trade Union Rally that got attacked by EDL thugs just voicing my views They're scum and Unfortunately some of these scum follow the reds.
I've never understood that "we wouldn't get away with it over there" line. That's the same line of mentality that paranoid white people use to complain that they can't use the the "n word" any more, but black people can. Let's not pretend that the EDL are anything but a bunch of hooligans and racists looking to legitimise their prejudices under a political banner.
Re: I was in a Trade Union Rally that got attacked by EDL thugs just voicing my view And are you labeling me scum in your remark there?
Re: I was in a Trade Union Rally that got attacked by EDL thugs just voicing my view I'm labelling anyone who goes around being an EDL thug scum. I've recognised some of the attackers mentioned in my earlier post at BFC games. EDL is scum, being an EDL thug is scum, Hope this makes things clearer for you.
True, but it was more the disparity in sentencing that I think drew criticism from right wing circles. All such a shame things have come to this.
Re: I was in a Trade Union Rally that got attacked by EDL thugs just voicing my view No this dosen't make things clear 1 ******* bit. This is a typical example of people not being able to have there views in case 'people' like you jump on your high horse and start labeling people. I hope my reply makes things a little clearer for yours truly.
Re: I was in a Trade Union Rally that got attacked by EDL thugs just voicing my view To be honest I am all for free speech but if you say things that are politically incorrect, like 'coloureds' for instance, then makes it very difficult for people to believe you arent anything but a racist. The people opposing the EDL arent just people with ethnic backgrounds they are a group of people from all backgrounds including white indiginous people. To call them coloureds is naive and wrong.
Re: I was in a Trade Union Rally that got attacked by EDL thugs just voicing my view Can you please show me where I have mentioned the word 'coloureds' And for the record to anyone reading this thread I am not a racist whatsoever just a realist who sees that people are afraid to say what they feel incase they get branded.
What I don't get with the "we wouldn't get away with it over there" line is that surely, we don't want our country to be like 'over there'. We prefer our country to be more liberal, more about freedom of expression.
Re: I was in a Trade Union Rally that got attacked by EDL thugs just voicing my view Excuse my incompetency from a comment made on another thread. And your view on my 'coloureds' is?
When you say "things have got to change", can you be a bit more specific? We are facing the worst economic disaster since the 1930's and I know for a fact there are thousands of people out of work and thousands of jobs working on the land picking fruit and such like. We import people from Rumania and Bulgaria to do that work - from 1000 miles away, yet within our own country many thousand sit around with no intention fo getting a job. Some people kicking off about our ill-conceved imperial wars in the middle-east as puppy dogs to the US seem like small potatoes in comparision. Looking back through our own countries illustrious history, we spent 400 years lording it over the planet, for example, forcing the Chinese to accept Heroin imports even though it obviously f***d the country for many years afterwards, we waged war wherever our political and economic interests were threatened. We spent our time acting like bullies of the planet. We need to pull our head in and marvel that we are not more hated then we actually are.
Re: I was in a Trade Union Rally that got attacked by EDL thugs just voicing my view Politically incorrect and offensive term to label someone of non-white British ethnicity. Came from racist notions of 'we're white, everyone else is coloured'.
Re: I was in a Trade Union Rally that got attacked by EDL thugs just voicing my view Let's get something clear here, I've absolutely no issue with blacks, Asians, Chinese, polish etc etc and yes there's some bloody awful lazy no good English people but what I do have an issue with is foreign nationals blatantly taking the piss in this country. Practicing there own faiths, doing as they please, as for things need to change, if you think there's no issue in this country then you must be blind. It's coming very apparent that my post as touched a raw nerve with certain people but whatever view I have I'm going to be singled out as a racist and a fascist.
You said show me where you had used the word and you have. My view is that the usage of said word shows more about you than any one else. Unless you want to claim you English right to day what you want that is obviously being eroded.
Re: I was in a Trade Union Rally that got attacked by EDL thugs just voicing my view As a Catholic "practicing my own faith", can you tell me what you'd like me to do? I remember the Leeds game 2 years ago, when some D**k head who probably never goes to a game from one week to the next walked past me behind the west stand singing "F**k the Pope" and I remember thinking "you are a grade 'A' tool EDL supporting chav w*nker" and when it comes to maning the streets I'll be there, but not stood with you, you thick t**t.
