Pound shops were buzzing, Greggs were packed, cards shops vibrant...... What a rundown shathole.

Thanks Mr Houghton and the rest of the cronies.

Just to clarify then, a town with packed, vibrant, buzzing shops is a bad thing.

I saw a fight between 2 men who looked like they were drug addicts or smack rats or summert. Terrible. Oh by the way, I was in Leeds city centre, does that count.? Or can we only attribute these types and their behaviour to Barnsley Town Centre. I also didn't realise Steve Houghton, or anyone els on the Council were responsible for this Govts Unneccessary Austerity ***** that they keep saying has to continue, despite bodies like the IMF telling them its not working and we need a plan B.

We aren't talking about Leeds but barnsley.

So we are turning things into an anti Tory rant?

I'm simply pointing out that this type of thing is not unique to Barnsley and they happen elsewhere because you wouldn't think so reading some posters on here. Also the opening post in this thread seems to indicate that people of Barnsley are cramming into 'economy' shops and there's something wrong in that and its the Councils fault. Firstly, I don't have an opinion on where people do they're shopping. Secondly, if it is a fault that so many in Barnsley choose the 'economy' shops, then its this Govts. fault.

'Hitting Barnsley' Shops have moved in and out of Barnsley ever since I can remember. The point is the op indicated that they seem to be the most vibrant and its a fault. If more and more people are using these shops, and it is a fault then its a fault of the economy, hence a fault of this govt.
perhaps you're one of the sheep that thinks Austerity is the only way?

He must have been fecking bad then, because unless I have totally mis-understood it, it is a WORLD WIDE PROBLEM !!!!!!
Gordon Brown must have had some kind of super power to be able to knacker the whole world moneywise !!!

There was me being blinded by the fact that Governments around the World had to bail out Banks, costing billiuons, when all the time it was Gordon Browns fault.
It seems it is now his fault that the only people that want to invest in Barnsley are poundshops and charity shops and Greggs, what a cu..nt he is!!

Aye and the torys have been in power a couple of years, still spouting the same line, and have done **** all to correct it. In fact they have laid off **** loads of public sector staff and public spending has spiralled even more. Got any more excuses?

Aye the whole answer was to keep borrowing and spending money we didn't have, that would have worked, ask Greece.
