Those girls have been severely let down. It's not the only area it has happened either. Let's hope any perpetrators are sent away for a long time, but there has to be an investigation in to how the police and social services allowed this to continue happening.

Quite right, but nothing was being done about it until it came to light and very little appears to be happening now. The Saville abuse story is dominating the front pages. The scandal in Rotherham, Rochdale and now Oxford is usually relegated to page 12 in a corner and hardly reported. Marches by right wing groups is not the way to protest about the scandal, but if nothing else is happening and no one appears to care, that is probably why extreme action is deemed worth taking. All such a sad state of affairs where once again the true victims, the girls, are still being largely ignored.

 

Don't get me wrong my sentiments on child abuse remain the same be it a cigar smoking loon or Asian gang.

The cover up over Saville needs investigating to the highest level as to why nothing substantial made the public eye until a year after his death.

Same investigations need to be carried out to why Asian grooming gangs seem to be generally covered up by local police and area authorities.

As for being a bit miffed I suspect most of those in Rotherham yeesterday share a similar opinion on child sex offenders regardless of orientation.

I think you might be given EDL supporters too much credit to think they have reasoned thought out views on grooming. They are probably the same people who would like 'to give Megan Stammers' one and happily tell Jimmy Saville jokes. I imagine the majority would not have been there had it been a white British child sex ring. Or if the victims had been Asian.

 

And you might be looking down your nose too much and pigeon holing that far right = thick.

And given they are against the Islamic faith if it was a white gang you are right they wouldn't.

Still doesn't detract from the fact yet again an Asian grooming gang goes under the radar for years.

 

How many white or christian grooming rings have gone under the radar for years though? I suspect that there will be a lot and they are despicable people just like the muslim or asian grooming rings are.

 

I think they are largely a lot of people who feel disenfranchised and unhappy with their lives and are exploited by manipulative individuals to their own ends through spreading fear, paranoia and half truths. Ironically just like the fundamentalists they protest against.

And as you accept they wouldn't have been there if the crimes hadn't been committed by Asian men. So the leadership are exploiting the crime for their own purposes, not because they feel strongly about the crime.

 

It's common knowledge the catholic faith has had numerous cases of abuse come to light over recent years and the insular church is doing what it needs to to root this out. Not enough may I add.

Most child sex offenders in Britain are single white men until it comes to grooming crimes/ abuse by two or more parties it was distinctly Pakistani British males.

Jumper, you said you felt people have just dismissed your opinion. I asked you a genuine question earlier which you chose to ignore. I've then made a reasoned point to another poster which you evidently don't agree with but rather than explaining why you just say its ballax. If you want people to take your opinion seriously then you don't do yourself any favours.

 

But jumping on the bandwagon by a political party is used by all parties not just the far right.

It's a shame certain right wing parties use organisations like CROP for their own ends rather than supporting the work they do in the larger picture and still nothing is done to investigate the number of already known cover ups by the police and local area authorities. If as a country e have to rely on the likes of the EDL BNP and those who have storm front saved as a favourite to bring such crimes to light then it is a very poor world we live in.

And if you are saying they put their political beliefs before the actual crimes and subsequent cover ups then I suspect you maybe sorely mistaken. I would bet you a fine English ten pound note that they have a very low tolerance of sex offenders regardless of race. Not many people tolerate nonces.

Well I was well aware of the issue without the EDL. It's been discussed numerous times on here, its been all over the press of all persuasions, debated at length on question time, in fact the first time I ever heard the debate raised was by Jack Straw.

I don't think your point stands up. You admit the EDL wouldn't have protested against a grooming gang if the gang in question hadn't been Asian, but then claim the protest wasn't to do with their political aims but due to the crime itself. I'll look forward to the next EDL protest march when someone white British offends.
