I got married there! It's brilliant and magical and sordid and repulsive. I was amazed and disgusted in equal measure. Everyone who has the chance should go to make their own mind up.
every one should try it at least once, if u limmit yourself to gambling $25 dollars a day and no more, you get free drinks so they say while you gamble ,you wont regret going thats for sure even the taxi drivers call it CRAZY TOWN.
Went in 2009 and loved it! Looking to go back next summer myself but haven't found anything reasonably priced yet. The prostitute flyers can be a pain but its a small price to pay for what is a fantastic place. Make sure you take an evening out from the strip and head down to Fremont Street. Its dubbed 'the original vegas' and is much more reasonably priced. Beers for $1 and live bands on every junction. Well worth a visit.
Re: I went last week... alright pal, only things wanted was whats it like eating out, is it expensive and also was talking to a mate on saturday night he said he went there and as long as your gambling your drinks are free? is that rite?
Re: Us Dodworthers managed to cant mate, our lass's mate is getting married out there so will have to be vegas or nothing
bloody hell, cheers pal, given me more then enough info there, we are looking at staying at the mirage which is where the beatle show is held at and seen some bloke from america's got talent does a show there, i wanted to stay in the MGN or Ceasers Palace just in case any boxing was on but the mirage looks a better hotel and was the same price, think were booking it tomorrow and going for 10 nights on the 20th sept, but cheers for the info mate have to try and save the stuff you've put and look at going to a few of the places you've put when we go
Re: I went last week... Not that bad eating out, similar price to dining out in Leeds, London etc. Buffet breakfasts/brunches are the way to go, all you can eat for about £12-£20 and it puts you on most of the day. If you sit at machines a while you might get a free drink (just tip a dollar), it depends which casino you're in. Sometimes waiters/waitresses are few and far between.
Narthen Barry, when are you going? Am there at the end of March on a stag do. Went last year on mine and when I arrived i loved the place but after 4 nights i was ruined and could not wait to leave. funny thing is as soon as i left, i just wanted to go back... that's what Vegas does to you haha PM me and i'll give you some details of where to stay etc
Yup Freemont Street Experience is a must do and perhaps a quad ruple bypass burger and shake in the heart attack grill there. I think at least two people have actually had heart attacks in that place. http://www.heartattackgrill.com/
Re: I went last week... Despite my reservations about Las Vegas, I am actually going again in May 2013 (my sisters wedding). To make the most of it, it's well worth visiting Fremont Street as mentioned - the tables are a lot cheaper to gamble on (usually $3 minimum stake) compared to $5-$10 at the main casinos on the strip. Your friend is correct that drinks are free whilst you're gambling - but the games happen so quickly that unless you've got plenty of cash on you or you're on a lucky streak you aren't going to be getting many free drinks. Obviously there is a direct link between being drunk and taking bigger risks - that's why they do it. Food isn't extortionate, but I'd never suggest it's cheap. Unsurprisingly there is a huge amount of choice and if anything it's hard to decide where to go. Well worth catching a show because they have some of the best ones in the world. I would buy tickets to a show prior to going as you generally get a better deal than you would when you're there. Think my mum went to see Barry Manilow and bought the tickets for a fraction of the price that they were going for on the strip.
now then cuz, got some good Vegas tips for you; All the stuff Gally said plus; for nights out defo book tickets for Surrender @ wynnits about $40-$50 bucks per person but I you get reight DJ's (Calvin harris Deadmaus5 etc) Also the club/bar in Cessars was ace, it was something like pussy cat dolls (cant remember proper name) If you want a proper ace night out, there are these blokes in suits walking around called fixers They sort you out with club tickets and table full of booze, they are alright bit pricey but you skip the queues and end up with a seat. If you want have a really good nigh out they sill sort you out a reservation in a restaurant, limo, club tickets and drinks for what you think is loads ($200), and you go out and end up spending more gambling and buying drinks and taxis and club tickets ($400) Also be aware that most seats/tables/sofas arent free in Vegas. They normally have a min spend limit, so if you see a empty table in the middle of a rammed bar, you sit down a waitress will run over and either say they are reserved or to sit there you have to spend at least $100 at the bar. Daytime pool parties are really good as-well, all the same as above. The Pool Party at Hard Rock is on Sundays and is on MTV so is always rammed Im full of advise for this place, if you want any more tip drop me a line
