Why, when the town I love was ripped apart and has never recovered, But lets all let bygones be bygones eh!!!
exactly mark, our communities were ripped apart by lies. they should now start and ask why profit making pits were closed.....too many people have been spoonfed lies in the last 28 years. the last coal board pit i worked at,Silverwood,in rotherham was making half a million every week when it closed....political madness.
Interesting if not really unsurprising. I think it only reinforced what many people already suspected regarding the powers that be. However, I think given the time scale very little will be done to pursue the matter further unless there is actual hard evidence of who the organ grinders behind it were.
Having watched Inside Out you are right---no surprises. It is clear that the culture of perverting the course of justice by Senior Officers was rife at that time and continued five years later at Hillsborough. Tony Blair introduced the phrase "Lets move on" when he wanted things swept under the carpet.Well done to the relatives of the Hillsborough victims for not accepting the idea they should "move on" and they are finally exposing the lies of Senior South Yorkshire Police Officers. There were no deaths at Orgreave thankfully but looking at the head injuries of miners from batons there could have been. As the QC on the programme said, it is incredible that not a single Police Officer was prosecuted, not even internally disciplined. Unbelievable Jeff! As Thatcher said, we were the "enemy within".
Thing is there will not be a paper trail uphill anywhere. SYP love a good cover up. There's been one in the news quite recently....
