But alas, not the answer to current striker crisis, sadly.

Going to see him on Sunday. He's supporting Noel Gallagher and Snow Patrol here in Calgary. Looking forward to it.

Only heard it once but yeah agree, great old sound for a young lad from Notts.God knows where he got that from.

Sounds Dylanesque, La's, Beatlesy. He's only been playing guitar a few years.

    Impressive indeed

Not usually my kinda thing, but he's been played on absolute radio quite a bit and I'm impressed. Definitely one to watch out for (or should that be listen out for?)

I'll give those interested a review after Sunday night - I've only heard a couple of songs on youtube so far, so it will be interesting to see what he's like live.

Sounds like the sort of thing my parents (50s) would find boring and they like Mumford & Sons.

Re: Jake Bugg - a brief concert review

So, I went to see Jake Bugg (along with Noel Gallagher's HFB and Snow Patrol) on Sunday night. I have to say that I was impressed. He is very "unpolished" and "raw" which is quite refreshing. He simply stood there - looking like an 18-year old Noel Gallagher - playing his guitar and singing. Pretty ballsy I thought, although occasionally he seemed to be going way too fast, as if his voice and fingers were in a race to finish the song.

At times he sounded almost Hillbilly, sometimes Country, sometimes Oasis. One very favourable review I read of him in the paper here described him as Johnny Cash meets Arctic Monkeys, which I find bemusing, but pretty accurate! Given where he's come from I hope he goes far - good luck to the lad.
