Re: I like him Well however they recruited they obviously did a good job (as they did with Robins) because the majority (unusually) think he's doing a good job!
Re: I like him still over achieving Forest have strikers to spare as well as Ipswich and Leicester Get shut of Hill and we will go down its only 7 days since we outplayed Charlton.
Re: I like him just think there is no one out there who would do as good a job 4 championship clubs without a manager now most famous son of Barnsley favourite for Ipswich job what would be the sales pitch for a potential new manager? Youve got nowt to spend but spend it carefully!
Whilst I agree we need new players. Hill is sadly not capable of building a team. His signings in the main are poor. And therefore whilst he is still in charge, the more players he signs, the more money we are wasting.
Same old fickle football fans. Win and we're awesome. Lose and sack the manager. I know he divides opinions but is sacking him really the way to go? And who cares about what he said about the fans last year? To be fair as a group of fans we've been an embarrassment at times last few years. Almost as embarrassing as some of the performances the team has put in. http://www.barnsley.vitalfootball.co.uk/matchrep.asp?a=297881
Completely disagree. Hill has hardly spent a penny and is offering low wages and has found players who, through his coaching and tactics, are proving to be competitive with teams with far more money
"Competitive" are you sure about that Ark? What place in the league would you say quantifies competitive? I would say competitive means top half.
I can't remember a manager bringing better players to Barnsley than Mellis, Cranie, Davies, Cwyka, Perkins & Vaz Te for a combined fee of £0
Sorry, should say in the last 15 years. And considering the money around now will undoubtedly be a lot more than when you're referring to I think that's not a bad shopping list.
I do agree that some of your list are decent enough championship players. But for every one of them there are at least 3 players who have not been up to it. It is a results business and individuals have to blend into a team, and a team that know how to be consistent. If you are correct in your praise for Hill and his players, then surely they should be doing better than they are.
I think it's all dependant on expectations. If everyone is truly honest I think we're exceeding the vast majority of people's so far both in terms of points and performances. Search back to June/July for evidence. I we had a consistent team we'd be top 6. But consistency costs money. I expect us to be inconsistent, just like we have been for the past 6 years in this league. Be interested to see your 1:3 ratio too. Think it's a little exaggerated.
