Yes I always suspected that but it was made official when figures were released by the club after season ticket sales and club memberships. The fans went into meltdown as they didn't like it. That muppet arrested the other day was from Cheltenham

I don't like Man U, I just despise all the plastic Man City fans, who were plastic Chelsea fans 5 years ago, and plastic Arsenal fans 10 years ago.

 

To be fair there aren't that many plastic City fans when you compare them to United, Chelsea, Liverpool etc. They couldn't even fill the ground for the Champions League games. No doing the Poznan as a lot didn't have anyone sat at the side of them!!

 

It's the number of people who walk around with city shirts on, or cheer at Oakwell when City are winning. That didn't happen 3 years ago, i've got a couple of mates who claim to like city now. It just really bugs me. I'm a Barnsley fan, I look out for Stevenage's results because my dad used to live there and watch them in the 60's & 70's, and that's it. I've found myself willing Man Utd to win just to piss off my mates.

 

And that's put that argument to bed. All the polls they do on the actual supporters of the two clubs come out the same.

 

there arnt many plastic fans at the moment because last season was the first time they've won owt.....given a few more seasons and a few more arab millions,they'll soon be fans everywhere just like utd.
I wouldnt lower myself personally seeing as theres a football team here,in our home town.
