.."Durham-based Clattenburg, 37, is viewed by the PGMO as one of the country's leading officials." Another example of how out of touch those running the gamee are with the fan base. Clattenberg makes far to many judgement errors. That said - what you sow you reap. If footballers didn't resort to err..."simulation (Cheating) or "go down easily" (dive), referees would not be constantlhy having to make those calls. If EUFA, FIFA, FA et al got their collective arses into gear and brought ion retrospective punishments after video reviews they could remove this cancer from the game. A 10 match ban would suffice where video reviews show the player dived. Those ****ers who go down clutching their faces when an opponent has thrown an arm across their chests should get a 15 match ban for trying to get a fellow pro sent off. Oh and 20+ match bans if a player is found quilty of racist abuse. They should stop p*ssing about and clean up the game which is fast becoming like wrestling in the 60s and 70s. Still think Clattenberg is biased towards certain teams though if not actuallyt bent.
Exactly. If footballers had been stopped from cheating before it became an epidemic then we wouldn't be having this discussion. The players have no right to moan when refs get these decisions wrong because it is their fault that the refs are in this position. The FA, UEFA and FIFA should have grown some balls years ago and dealt with this problem.
Watch rugby league or union matches. Players knocked all over the place and get straight up and carry on if fit to do so. Also back chat to officials results in a penalty. Football could learn a lot for this.
