Not only that - not too familiar with pay rates in sheffield but £7 / hour for an administrator familiar with office tools and able to talk to customers etc seems a bit light to me especially when figures published today say the minimum figure for a living wage is £7.20 per hour outside that London

A little harsh I think! You should see their (Saints Personnel) website. Not some fly-by-night company. Tempted to send this to their HO as it sort of contradicts their claims to be 'world leaders' if it wouldn't get the employee in trouble. Only looking for temp contract job til we sell the house and go to our house in Italy. Avoiding what I did before (IT Telecomms (Genesys) design and implementation) as, a) I dont want to travel and spend months away from home, b) don't need the hassle that comes with the territory and c) not looking for a high salary. Know anyone who is looking for someone who needs an administrator?

I didn't apply though! I was on 40k with bonuses benefits package and expenses and took a small voluntary redundancy package 18 months ago expecting to have sold our house by now and retired to Italy.

Cant sell house, bored stuck at home so looking for something non- permanent and relatively local. Money/status not that critical although, given my background and soft skills set I would like to think I can get a little more than minimum wage. Office admin work appeals provided it has a bit of variety in the routine. IT is a problem as I was in a very specialist area (Genesys CTI and IPCC- dont ask!)

Remind us again please, what you did and how much you earned. Just for the avoidance of doubt.

It's about the going rate for that kind of work in Sheffield for menial office work.

High staff turn over, lot of students, short term workers.

That's not going to keep Hemsie in the lifestyle to which he has become accustomed! :(
