Is he God,no,is he the devil,no.The only facts are at the moment he is a Championship manager,if he does well he will get plaudits a pay rise or even an offer at a bigger club than us,if he gets it wrong he gets the sack like every other manager.Seems straight forward to me.

You are right, but where it is less black and white is how you judge if he is doing well. A lot of fans on here say he is doing well, his record in 2012 suggests differently.

The problem with statistics is that they completely ignore circumstances.

Not quite. The league table doesn't lie but survival is our first target and with our resources is not a bad achievement. I'll take fourth from bottom and another season in this league.

I'm not ignoring facts just looking at them in perspective.

    I know what you mean

There's still some Barnsley fans who won't admit Andy Ritchie was a **** Championship manager (as proved by paul.d's stats) who deserved to be sacked.:)

Agree. Like having to get shut of top earners and replace with untried and tested laikers.

Ah but them were dodgy stats though!!!!

Although if you go back to Paul`s stats you may find that Hill has the worst record of any manager for God knows how long, but those stats were dodgy too I suppose !!!:p

Never said it will - what it does though is make those points we do earn harder to come by. But you know that.

    Correct

But if someone wants to simply quote facts, without wishing to look deeper into a given situation, then it can come back and bite them on the bum. If basic facts are used to denigrate the work and ability of a manager a person dislikes and persistently criticises, they can't complain when the same thing is done with a manager they liked and approved of. Personally, I don't believe Ritchie was a **** manager. Neither, in my opinion, is Keith Hill.

    Re: Correct

I have NEVER said Hill is a **** manager though, that is what people believe I said when I said I didn`t like his voice!!!
I have said on here many times that Hill is just an average manager, neither the best or the worst we have had or will have.
If people do not believe I have said that before I would ask them to us the search facility !!!

    I never said you did

I've nailed my colours to the mast with regards to Keith Hill a number of times. I like him, rate him as a manager and have thoroughly enjoyed most of the football we've played this season. The defeats and performances against Brighton, Peterborough & Forest haven't changed my opinion. Others think differently, which is their right. They're no different to me with my disliking of McSeveney, Iley, Hunter from the Summer of 1982, Collins, Spackman, Parkin, Hodges, Hart & Davey.

    Re: Correct

Personally I think he deliberately uses the quirkiness to mask his weak spots. When someone asks a pertinent question about a result or a game ahead, he almost always goes off at a tangent. Great soundbites for the media, enigma code for his believers to decipher, utter bollix for the cynics.

Doesn`t deserve the sack for me and very few people on here are saying that he does but any criticism of Hill seems to be taken as Hill out, who would you replace him with bairning or you`ll only come on here when we lose and you want to see us lose crap (red rag to a bull that is).

Not much tolerance of opposing views on here really. Will owt change? Never.

To be the fair the only threads I take to mean 'Hill out' are the ones that are titled 'Hill out'
