according to some betting websites hes not even in the top 10 in betting owen coyle or steve thompson are there next manager
According to most he's about 4/1. Makes sense to me and can see why Blackpool would be attracted considering how they're run.
Holloway left because they wouldn't back him financially. Read their forums, and Karl Oyston makes Don Rowing seem perfect. They have spent very little, but I still think Keith would prefer that job purely because he'd have Ince, Phillips, Baptiste etc. He doesn't seem to be enjoying it here, and has slipped back into negative Keith. Maybe a move would suit all parties? I don't want him to go, but I wouldn't cry or owt if he did. We have recovered from far worse.
How would it suit us though? Who would we attract to manage a club with our resources, with a squad chosen by someone else, with no funds to change it? I think the last thing we need is a new manager, the disruption, the uncertainty. He'd walk ove the Pennines I'm sure, that sqaud is st up perfectly for how Hill likes to play football. Their squad is similar to ours in terms of how it's set up, just much much better.
I'd be gutted. However, if I was Keith, I'd **** BFC off in favour of Blackpool any day of the week. The amount of **** he gets from our fans is shocking. Admittedly,. we're not doing great at the moment, but I truly believe we'll plummet through the trap door in to obscurity if he goes. If I'm wrong, I'll happily have this post thoroughly rubbed in my face.
Right then lets set the scene, hill gets sacked and the bbs jumps for joy, then what do we do? Who do we appoint? Who's going to want to join a club without a pot to piss in? Come on brains of Barnsley please enlighten me. A lot on here seem to know more than the manager and the board so lets see what sensible answers come back??

Patrick reassuring the next man he wants in that he has a glittering future at Oakwell and his job's safe while he's around but he could be gone tomorrow because he's selling the Club and it hasn't any money. This side of a take over a fresh managerial appointment is the last thing we need. I'm not Hill's biggest fan but even I can see we don't want to try recruiting a manager with the current state of affairs at Oakwell.
Good post JC. Do you really expect some sensible responses to that question on here other emotional ones of managers made from past players from glory era's.
So, no other manager would want the job, is that what you are all saying? Surely you don't mean that. There would be many candidates, and some of them would be better qualified, and more successful than Keith. As I say though, he was my man the day Robins left, and still is. But I refuse to have him on a pedestal like some, because as you all know, he'd leave us at the drop of a hat. Yet folk gave certain players grief for leaving us...
Be interesting to see how Hill would perform with more financial resources. And in the absence of a takeover how we'd fair with a replacement working with fck all money, and no hope of any more.
Granted that football management is not the most secure of occupations but with the Club's owner seeking a buyer who realistically would take the job on knowing that his tenure at Oakwell might be over in no time at all?
The problem is that every managers job gets numerous applicants, from the same old faces that continue to fail but 'cos they're known in football they get a job, I mean, in any other industry would anyone be given that tool brain Brian Laws another job? Not likely, so yes, no doubt we'd get lots of applicants, but really, anyone who's not been sacked for failing somewhere else? Likely to be none.
I want Keith to stay, but I want him to: 1. Give it a rest about lack of money and resources. It can't be any good for morale of the players constantly hearing that he feels there's deficiencies in the squad, but he can't do owt about it. We know we're short of money, just accept it, just encourage a theme of little Barnsley v The Rest, and get on with it! 2. Be bolder in your tactics - not like yesterday's dull containment approach. At least if we're going to lose, let's have had a real go at it!
If they ask to speak to him Keef better hope he is then offered the job because if he's spoken to and then isn't offered the job his position with us would be no longer viable.
