    Can you vote?

I think the whole system there is a bit bonkers tho. Just watched a programme on BBC where it was claimed Republicans decided they would obstruct him no matter what.

Then people calling him a socialist because he wanted to sort the American humiliation that is healthcare.

Part of me wants to say the USA gets who/ what they deserve...... When they run the presidential elections like a thigh slapping popularity contest. I'm just waiting for them to introduce a clapometer to decide. Sod the politics, let's just see who can perform best on stage, who can avoid having their past dredged up.
The way the Americans get whipped up into a frenzy over people you'd never trust, just shows what a nation of muppets they are.
But then, who win affects the rest of the world.
Obama out of the two. The other would be like having Del Boy.

I want Obama, but I have a feeling Romney is going to win.

As for Iran, it's dangerous whatever, but ultimately what gives us or the USA the right to say that any other nation cannot have a nuclear weapon? It's arrogance in the extreme.

There was a report out today (in Sunday Times I think) that stated the US economy is projected to grow by 3% next year. That's far more than is happening in Europe and would appear to vindicate the approach Obama took versus that of Cameron etc.

Romney has changed is position on so many issues and had no problem lying in the campaign, he even said at the start "We won't let fact checkers get in the way of the campaign"

If Romney wins we should cut diplomatic ties.

He was, by far, the most reasonable and central of the Republican candidates! Not saying much but rather have him than any of the others they put up.

It'll be interesting either way when we go over for Thanksgiving as in-laws are Republicans!

Frightening shower they are. And that's before we look at the Tea Party. Campaign against Big Government but Big Business is fine...

cheers. I know, was there 2 years ago, at least we follow a week there with a week down in Florida!

Father-in-law was 90 this year, every time we go over now it's always in our minds it could be the last time we see him.

I don't trust the Americans to not make a stupid decision.

The talk about Islam being a brainwashing cult yet they have more Christian extremists than anywhere else. Some of the fools I've encountered in Korea... One told me dinosaurs weren't real and their bones were created by God to test everyone's faith. And these people are responsible for picking a leader who in/directly controls most of the free world.

A friend in Florida sent me a copy of the ballot form they get, it's 3 pages long!
As well as voting for the President, there's Senate, House of Representatives, State Senate, local elections, Judges, Sheriff and more.
There are also very lengthy questions for referendum for changing the State Constitution - you need to be a lawyer almost to understand what they are proposing!

Make no wonder they've been having lengthy queues for the early voting.

    that is quite true.
saw one of our friends filling out her postal vote, her husbands a lawyer for the department of justice.she had to ask him what half the questions were LOL.

    HERE IN MARYLAND

apart from president and the rest of local goverment.

there is question 5 about gay marriage.
question 7 about whether we should have gambling in maryland,ie building a new casino in baltimore.

the phone the last month hasnt stopped ringing, with recorded messages we even had David Copperfield phoning.

The way i see it if you vote Mitt Romney, big bird and seasme street will be no more.He want to cut public broadcast tv funding.

Here in DC over the weekend there was a huge march it was called the muppet march.
everyone dressed in different costumes i think about 30,000 took part.

    only in America

I saw the muppet march, but it's a bit of a stretch to say it would be the end of Sesame St as that makes a lot of money from being sold abroad, I don't think they should defund NPR and PBS however.
