and anyone who thinks putting Steele back in goal was a mistake are mental. There are two other glaring issues that Hill needs to address, Wiseman is brittle as everyone but Hill seems to accept and with Cranie fit he needs dropping. And if Davies isnt close to returning we must get a striker in on loan who can add some sort of goal threat. But we're not a million miles away and losing by 1 goal away at Hull is not time for panic stations imho, we're still out of the bottom 3 and with lots of positives to build on.
Did you see the performance against P'boro with Cranie at the back? Did we win a header in that game? I'm not saying he was to blame, but he is more effective in front of the back four. McNulty and Foster should be the starting cb's for us in my opinion.
Foster was missing in that game which was the main reason we didnt win a header. And bizarrely, Hill left Perkins on the bench and played Hassell in midfield. If McNulty is fit, then I agree, he should start alongside Foster with Craine in for Perkins who is out fit seems.
Nar. hes out of position for the goal. should have saved it still. if he was in position it would have come straight at him . Not sure why hes so far over to that front post. Anything to is lefts going wide. think he made one top save. two that most pro keepers would say. thank the lord that wiseman was covering him though. Wiseman had a good game but you keep having ago at him.
Any sort of pro keeper would save it GO. get in the right position and its almost impossible not to save unless they do a massive curler in to top corner far post or unless you are unsighted like Jones for Liverpool.
Does continually being out of position, weak in the tackle, poor in the air constitute having a good game?
I did not see the same synopsis of the goals Alnwick has let in, especially Ipswich and Forest. Strange that.
Wiseman DID NOT have a good game at the weekend. The guy has zero ability in the air, got out muscled on numerous occasions and was completely weak in the tackle. I have absoloutely no idea why he is reluctant to move forward with the ball. It comes to him with a great big gaping chasm of space in front of him yet he passes it sideways to a marked man or backwards! A mate of mine (Newcastle supporter) came with me on Saturday and said the following: 'He's not very good you're captain is he? Why doesn't he move forward with the ball? Has he been told he can't run when he has it? Perfect analysis. Time for either McNulty or a new centre back.
I'll ask again, were you actually there? There were two outstanding saves from Steele, as pointed out in a previous thread. Maybe you'd gone for a wee or summat.
OUTSTANDING. No. I was there and i've just watched highlights, well early this morning and i see one very very good save which was better than i thought but the save in the first half i would have backed most keepers to save including all three of barnsley pro's.
He was there. He posted on here at 10.20 am they looking for a pub. That probably tells you all you need to know about Hemsworth's indepth analysis.
Just watch the highlights GO. And its not different it different to the moaners on here. Which i'm quite happy about to be honest.
That's simply nonsense. The first half save was directly (and I mean DIRECTLY) in front of us. Steele was completely unsighted, weight on wrong foot, but reacted quickly, got down sharply and at full stretch turned it round the post. You clearly watch a different game to everyone else.
