When someone says they won't bow to pressure, you know they're under pressure.

The last three home games have been almost Davey-esque in terms of performance. The starting line-up at Hull smacked of surrender before the kick off. It sounds from the report as though we finally made some impression only once we gave a nod in the direction of having some offensive players. To my mind, Hill has seriously lost his way. The days of Howard, Da Silva, Campbell-Ryce and Hammill seem a long way away. The 8,000 gates are leaving the club in a 'critical' state, but if this persists next season will be worse.

The Birmingham game ought to have been the rallying point for the rest of the season. Instead, it seems increasingly as though it owed more than we realised to Brum's abject display. If that were not the case then it should have been possible to replicate that level of effort and concentration. It seems to me that Hill is not presently capable of motivating his side. That, allied to the fact that the majority of the squad are not of Championship standard can lead to only one result. If Davies or Steele leave in January then we may as well forfeit the remainder of our games and prepare for League One.

We need a manager who has the connections to bring in experience of a higher grade, even if those players are on the decline. They can at least add some steel and help bring on the youngsters. We also need a boss who is not too friendly and protective of the players - even when the evidence is in front of his own eyes. And this needs addressing now, before we sink further into a decline which will not again be so easy to get out of.

and which manager would you like?

Players on decline from a higher grade on large wages no doubt...sounds like you have the business plan all sorted for taking the club back into Admin.

No, WRII. Are you too young to remember Hendrie, Thomson, Wilkinson, etc - all brought in on a shoestring by Wilson?

As for managers, we all know we can't afford a 'name'. But surely there's a good young coach out there who can really get fitness levels up (instead of just talking about it, as most seem to do) and who can actually motivate players to put out. Oh, and with a semblance of tactical nous, too.

Those kind of players do not exisit anymore, with a handful of exceptions like Kevin Philips.

I know you read this board so you already know the answer to this question because there are other threads and even a poll on the same subject. The majority of fans are still behind Hill but you know that already. Better bait needed.

TBH at Hull,I thought it was a worthwhile move,Marlon and Daggers don't seem to pose a threat and Etuhu played quite well without getting the service, had Mellis been available it may have been interesting.

It's not an experiment, it's our reality.

Yeah because if the manager is going to be so openly negative all the time it's bound to rub off the fans that he's not leading by example as the man in charge of the team. Our players occasionally come out with nonsense about us being good enough to reach the play offs, but at least they are trying to give us fans some optimisim to feed off.

As with the other miseries, you need multiple threads to make a point. Why don't you just support the club and let the manager get on with his job?

I think that is true of many teams in this division.

You could easily argue that the same thing happened when Peterborough beat us. If we aren't on top of our game, we WILL get turned over.

Davies has been a big loss and Harewood is a huge disappointment. You spoke about bringing in players with "experience of a higher grade, even if those players are on the decline". Are you advocating more players in the mould of Harewood?

Is this a "forum", i.e. a website where we debate a matter of common interest? Or should we just fall behind you in the Drones Club?
