It dosent matter how you dress it up..............Davey and then Robins had much more money to spend on players than Hill has........end of.......full stop. You have only to look at the players brought in at that time and compare it with who Hill has brought in. Going back even further we were competitive in the transfer market during the John Dennis reign. The only two periods that we weren't competitive in the transfer market is the time leading up to and during Administration..........and the period that started about 3 or 4 seasons ago and each season up to the present time it is getting worse. We currently have a team made out of 1st and 2nd division and reserve team players from other clubs..........I can never remember a Barnsley team made of of so many lower league players. BUT...........the vast majority of them have shown that they can play at Championship level.......Vaz Te, Drinkwater, Perkins, Golbourne, Dawson, McNulty, Cranie, Mellis, Davies...........and this is down to the hard work of Hill and Flicker In my view there's only been a few that haven't made the grade Edwards Harewood.........jury still out Dagnall............hard worker but he aint scoring Done..............even though Palace offered £500k for him If Hill was allowed a bit of freedom to bring players in that he wanted then I'm sure we would be nearer the top than we are the bottom of the league
I'm older than 41. We have something very special at the WELL at the moment..........and given time and a bit more funding you will see what me and a load more who understand a bit about football are talking about. If we were 10 points adrift at the end of the season ...........I would still recomend to any new owner that they nail Keeeefflicker down to a 10 year contract
What sort of figure did you have in mind? I'm not convinced a "little bit of freedom" would make such a difference as to propel us into the top half of the table. For that, we need quality plus strength in depth - we have neither at the moment.
spot on nudger and this as to happen quickly or we will loose the mangement team because people who phone P OR G up will get them the sack.
P or g won't get him the sack. He will most likely walk out. To me the warning signs are already their
Some people need a reality check. Many Championship clubs have more funds than us (parachute payments/wealthier backers/higher gate reciepts) so how can we compete? The club has to work with what it has.If there are no funds then what do some people want? For the club to spend money it does not have? We are where we are and reluctantly have to accept it whether we like it or not. The only thing that will get rid of Hill is Hill himself.
But he hasn't been tempted with another job yet as he. How many mangers do we hear they want to stay, and then a few week later, their gone
"We now have the best mangement team at the club in living memory''' Funniest thing I have heard in years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you only think there are 4 players hill has signed who haven't made the grade? Presumably you've forgotten about Collins who even hill has given up on, Etuhu who has done nothing since signing for us, Nile ranger who was worse than you would be playing up front, Nouble who was worse than Ranger, Higginbotham who was ****, Addison who was the most immobile midfielder in history, Cotterill who was ****, Wiseman and Mcnulty who are nowhere near up to scratch, ben Alnwick who might be cheap but is also a poor keeper. You've forgotten about these lot presumably? Edwards, Alnwick, McNulty, Wiseman, Dagnall, Harewood, Done, Collins, Etuhu, Ranger, Park, Nouble, Higginbotham, Cotterill, Addison. All brought to BFC by Keith Hill, all performed poorly for us.
