walked out of front door "Danny Wilson
as far as i'm concerned he stood at the front door shouting he was staying then run through the building via the back door in a cab to swillsborogh.

just to set a few facts here

the day barnsley were relegated, danny wilson handed john dennis his resignation.

john dennis refused to accept it. and also knew as we all did if sheffield wednesday ever came calling he would leave.

    and so he did.

He handed in his resignation when we were relegated as he felt he had failed and was offering the chairman a compensation free way of changing the manager. That was turned down because Dennis was happy with how he had done.

He told fans he was staying because he didn't want to go to another club and if the chairman wanted him then he wanted to stay.

He then had redfearn sold from under his feet (who in turn only left because the chairman refused to pay him, the captain, the same wages he was paying foreign players) and was told other players would have to be sold so quit for wednesday when they came in for him.

From both Wilson's and Redfearns mouths.

Well he told the Barnsley Supporters trust that it was because he wanted parity with the club's top earners and felt he had earned it due to being the captain and one of the top scorers. This reason was backed up by Neil Thompson who was also at the meeting and also by Wilson who told me that personally when he explained why he left.

Doesn't mean it's true like but it is what they said and all three's stories matched.

That's not true though, is it?

Didn't Clarke walk out the front door first time around?

I'm sure there must have been others but I'll leave the history stuff to Turvey Tyke . . .

tbh no, his ramblings lately have gone from occasionaly humorous to pretty pathetic, not that team hill will agree

I could be proved wrong but ...

I believe Barnsley never sacked a Manager until Norman Hunter in 1984. Admittedly we've made up for it since then.
