    ...............at this moment in time.

For years I've said that when Pat Cryne leaves the club there should be a memorial built for his work in saving the club.
But in saying that, PC should have appointed an agent to find a buyer years ago.
He has always wanted to sell the club ever since he bought it - he has openly said that he saw himself has just a stop gap until new owners could be found.
So whats taken so long to find an agent to help him do just that?

Unfortunately for Keith Hill and Flicker they have joined the club at a time when sufficient funding has stopped going into the club.
We all know that PC is putting money into the club but now there are not SUFFICIENT funds to make the club attractive to players from other clubs.
Plus the reduction in funding has seen our own supporters drift away.

We now hear that a bit of funding is going to be released for a new striker - hopefully this will steady the ship a bit.
But much more importantly is the fact that a new owner needs to be at the helm as quickly as possible.

You base that on WHAT exactly? It strikes me that the best PR to come out of Oakwell is that from Keef's gob when talkking about himslef, which like it or not is NOT being matched by results on the field.

I agree PC should have acted years ago. Strange that.

    I base the fact on:
We are playing more attractive football than we did under Ritchie, Davey and Robins.
At the same time as not having a shed load of journey men loan signings.
And at a time when the players in the team are mostly from lower league clubs or reserve team players from clubs.
And at a time that we now have the smallest budget in the Championship and a budget that is said to be smaller than many 1st division sides.
Hence the quote..........."walking a tight rope with two broken legs".

More attractive football? At times yes. But a lot of the time no. A lot of the time it it is tippy tappy crap that gets us nowhere.

Our budget is not smaller than League One sides.

I agree. The biggest problem we have at the moment is our manager is too good.

We keep hearing this. League One teams that already have to operate within the Fair Play rules, all but one get smaller gates and they all receive about £2m less in TV money. **** knows how they all have bigger budgets but it must be true as it's been said so often.

I think most of us would consider ourselves too good for our respective employers.

Slight wobble in form for thee, that one tough Nudger.

I wouldn't presume to know Patrick Cryne's business, but perhaps now he has achieved a semblance of financial stability and self sufficiency he feels he can finally let the club go, with a sense of security and peace of mind. If this is the case, any takeover plans would not have been viable until this season and any plans still have to be the right thing for he club, otherwise I can't see Patrick selling.

"Unfortunately for Keith Hill and Flicker they have joined the club at a time when sufficient funding has stopped going into the club." I would suggest this is the reason they were offered the management jobs.

Sometimes this message board is just full of garbage - because basically people change their views and just follow the views of others.

A few weeks ago I posted a thread on the lines of - nail your colours to the mast with regard to Hill and Flicker.
The response was an overwhelming support for the management team.
Now one or two have slagged my views on this thread......consequently others have followed like sheep when only a few weeks ago they were supporting Keith Hill and Flicker.

Obviously a large percentage of Barnsley fans haven't got two brain cells to rub together and are unable to form their own views.

    BBBBBBBaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!!!!!!!!!

No what is barmy is your insistence based on **** all that they are teh best management team we have ever had. It is clearly nonsense. They have the potential to be the best but at the minute that is all it is.

I'm on your side mate. Though I wouldn't say they're to good for us, I think it's a fair match. I got lambasted yesterday for suggesting the fans' negativity was contributing to the poor form and imminent relegation battle and was akin to self inflicted damage. It met with a response along the lines of "Keith started it, him and his under-performing Aldi rejects."

The reason other clubs haven't come for Hill is soley because he is struggling to get a Championship team together.......... under the ownership of Mr Pat Cryne.
And this is basically what I am saying..........Hill and Flicker are too good for Barnsley under the present ownership of Pat Cryne.
But there will be many Chairman in the football league keeping a very watch full eye on whats happening at Barnsley......especially after the 0-5 at Birmingham.
