No, not at all. The back four were poor to day and the midfield were toothless. The formation didn't work for me and I think we lacked commitment and spark.
Occasionally Davies is capable of producing a goal from nowt, so it's possible, but I doubt it because we simply didn't create anything.
How about the almost clear cut chances for O'Brien and Mellis? Both tried to control the ball instead of taking the chance first time and both messed up with the goal beckoning. An inform Davies would have buried both had he had the chances.
What we lacked today was a striker who has proven this season he can score goals and who was brimming with confidence.
I didn't realise if Davies had been playing he would have been stood where Mellis and O'Brien were stood. I thought the whole reason they got the chances you mention was because the Huddersfield defence were marking the forwards so the breaking midfielders were free.
Erroneous. Did you not read my reply? I clearly wrote 'had he had' - meaning if Davies had found himself in that situation, you know, in the Huddersfield box... Anyways, we'll never know.
