Hassell is neither tall enough or fast enough to be in the first team - its as simple as that.
If he was 3 or 4 inches taller he could have made a decent centre half..............but he aint
Plus Bobby has never been the quickest of players...........and Keith Hill likes players that are fast
And thats why Wiseman is being chossen over Hassell..........Wiseman can give strikers a 2 metre start and still get to the ball first
I much prefer Wiseman than Hassell.
The last time Hassell played was in midfield and he looked like he was wearing diving booits..........i.e. full of lead.

All this hero worship of Hassell is absolutly ridiculous...........we have people on here suggesting that we are not winning games because Hassell is not in the side.
Others have taken it even further by suggesting that Hassell should be our next manager.

    Absolutly CUCKOOOoooooooooo !!!!!!!!

The reason we arnt winning games is nothing to do with Bobby Hassell.........its simply down to the fact that the strikers we currently have on show are not doing the business.
So we need new strikers in to the club ASAP

He can't give them a start in the air though can he? Cos once he has been out jumped he stays out jumped. Pace or no pace.

We aren't winning games because we don't create enough. We don't create enough because we don't move the ball quickly enough and the likes of Wiseman see too much of the ball. We also are missing players who can take players on using pace in the right areas of the field.

You prefer Wiseman to Hassell. You also say Hill is out best manager ever. I put it to you sir, that it is you who is "Absolutly CUCKOOOoooooooooo !!!!!!!!"

I'm not saying that Wiseman dosent make mistakes.........because he does. But at least Wiseman has speed to offer.......Hassell has neither speed or height, he is a smallish guy
Only person at the club that can defend against tall strikers is Foster..........and how many times does Foster make mistakes......we can start by looking at the Hudders result.
The only real centre half we have had in the past few years has been Shackell.........and when he went there were people on here saying that they wernt that bothered that he had left..........crazy
Shackell kept Barnsley in the Championship the season before last

Shackell is the nost overrated centre half in the business,if you look at the last 3 clubs he's captained they are all high in the pecking order of goals conceded, currently he is Marshalling the Burnley defence to a magnificent 3rd from the bottom of a goals conceed table,....only Ipswich and Bristol are worse, some Burnley fans are now questioning the credibilty of their star defensive signing....the only thing that prevents him being found out sooner is the fact that physically he does look like a Rolls Royce, strolling about like Beckenbauer..and is a decent footballer on the ground...the snag is he is reluctant to challenge big rough forwards in the air,Burnley have conceded quite a few already this season...perhaps thats why Clough moved him on after just one season,in Shackells year with us we conceded quite a lot of goals that centre halves should have defended, and many people on here blamed Hassell Foster Hill Trippier...even the kit man, rather than our captain.

I happen to think Hassell can win lots of headers. He did that at Wednesday for example at centre half a few years ago (yes a few years ago but his timing of his jump makes up for lack of height).

I feel let down by the return we have got out of Edwards as he seemed to be the Championship centre half we wanted

I'm also not sure if Hassell is good enough to be a long-term first team fixture but, the fact of the matter is, with several players out of form or injured, we'd be absolutely crazy to let him leave the club.

Playing Hassell might not be the answer, letting him leave isn't either.

I think a dwarf would have more presence in the air than Scott Wiseman, I think we should play Hassell at right back as Stones is in dire need of a rest. I think McNulty should replace Wiseman, as he's going to win more against big strong strikers. We need to change something, bringing Hassell into the team is by no means the solution, however it's a change, something we all agree needs to happen.

One of the best centre halves I have ever seen was neither tall or quick.

    Cos Mido too fat.

If Hill signed fit players he wouldn`t have signed Harewood.

2 wages for 1 position. No money have we.

What absolute nonsense. Hill's stubborn refusal to play Hassell is costing us, week in, week out. We're in the $hit and need leaders now, more than ever. He would be the first on my team sheet.

Nudger seems to revel in saying ridiculous things.
Scott Wiseman is fast (he isn't, he's got good acceleration).
Scott Wiseman (6 ft tall) is better than Bobby Hassell (5 ft 10) at heading.
Keith Hill likes fast players, and he's the best manager we've had.

Doesn't matter if you're 7 foot tall if you don't know how to judge the flight of the ball or if you're usain bolt if you are unable to tackle.
