Not by choice! I heard an interview two or three summers back where he sounded desperate to get rid of the club and I don't blame him. I think he was always a reluctant owner who happened to be the only guy about with the wealth and will to take us on. Unfortunately the lack of interest in the club has led to him having to stay longer than he would probably have hoped.
Cryne has hung onto the club for as long as it took to make it a solvent, debt free enterprise that is only now a presentable and attractive opportunity for a new owner. No more, no less. It really is as simple as that. Well, simple is the wrong word....
Yes.......thats the point.........when did he appoint the agent to find a buyer ??? We all know that he saw himself as just a stop gap........but since he bought the club he 'SEEMS' to have just sat on it
And the thing is.............lots of fans, including Pat Cryne, berated John Dennis for holding on for too long. Consequently the club was in a bigger mess than what it should have been once PC got hold of it..............is history repeating itself ???
