Dougie says - “I think after 12 matches you’ll see teams settling down a bit and that’s certainly what happened with Barnsley. They got off to a great start but some teams have worked out their style, or combated it with other ideas, hence the defeats. Hopefully, we’ll work it out too and have the right mentality to win the game.” To me this sounds like he is saying...........'tha better start thinking abart different tactics Keeefi because you are too predictable'
Re: Dougie Freedman thinks our defeats are nowt to do with us missing key players.... But he must be wrong because, as you keep telling us, Keith is the best manager in the history of BFC.
Re: Dougie Freedman thinks our defeats are nowt to do with us missing key players.... Yes, obviously that is right.....(well mostly right; I said in my lifetime, not 'in the history')........but its still a side swipe at aarr Keeef
Re: Dougie Freedman thinks our defeats are nowt to do with us missing key players.... We should take that as a incentive I do think Freedman is part correct we should changed our tactics to complement the players available.
Re: Dougie Freedman thinks our defeats are nowt to do with us missing key players.... freedman isnt wrong,we are predictable,in the main its like watchin paint dry. roll on bolton tomorrow.
or we should change tactics to combat the team we face on the day like in Chess, there are many defences attacks gambits etc, but we just seem to play one strategy. Therefore the Grand masters (managers) can and will eventually find a way to check mate us every time. The long ball game is horrible but sometimes can be effective, thats just one type of game play. What I am saying is that we need to be more unpredictable, at present we are not. Also we need to have at least a plan 'B' on the day to revert to, we seem not to have that option either.
Re: or we should change tactics to combat the team we face on the day Unfortunately Hill has to grasp that we do not possess the quality required in midfield to unlock championship defences and all this pretty passing has been well and truely sussed out after brum away. As long as we are shopping in "primark" this will not change. Hill needs to change tactics and bloody quickly or we'll be down with the trimmings.........
Re: Dougie Freedman thinks our defeats are nowt to do with us missing key players.... Uncharacteristic comment from a professional manager I feel. Disrespectful
Re: Dougie Freedman thinks our defeats are nowt to do with us missing key players.... How is it? It is a true statement, so how can that be disrespectful. If he had said Barnsley were poor and lucky to be in this division, the I would have said that was disrespectful !!
It's an opinion That's all. I remember Mark McGhee also expressing an opinion, which backfired on him in a big way. If I were a Barnsley player tomorrow, I'd be determined to ram his opinion down his throat in the best possible way.
Re: Dougie Freedman thinks our defeats are nowt to do with us missing key players.... As a fan, who knows nowt about football according to keef, I'd say sit on the edge of my own box, condense the space between the defence and midfield to stop mellis operating in between and the strikers getting in behind you, (don't worry there won't be a decent cross or long distance shot all day). Allow the likes of goldbourne, Dawson, Perkins and stones to get on the ball around the edge of your box, catch them hesitating and hit them on the break down the sides where they've left gaps in behind. Alternatively hit diagonal balls from the unguarded area in front of stones to the big man at the opposite back post where the ineffectual centre back won't get within a country mile of putting an header in. Not rocket science.
