One or two nice touches but nothing much, blazed a shot over.

Ridiculous how many fans sang 'one greedy *******'. Moronic in my opinion. Certainly helping to put him off coming back in future.

Exactly. I felt ashamed to be in the away end while about half the people in there sang that at him.

Especially as Butts wanted to return to Oakwell, but NCFC wouldn't allow it........ How many others have rejected us eg, Church etc

    Players should never return.

Good riddance, we've moved on, sick of the saga during the summer.

Didn't sound as though he wanted to return to Oakwell from the Chronicle article.....I've nothing really against that, players want to do the best for themselves and a return might look a little bit like failure....however his most obvious contribution to the game was his corner kick.... that with a little more behind it could have cleared the Reebok roof at the other side of the stadium.

He said on the Radio Sheffield interview something like "Norwich wanted me to go to Bolton as a better move and I agree with that". I don't know why so many people stick up for him so much on here. He shouldn't be villified but he's arrogant and showed no loyalty, affection or respect for the club during the transfer last summer. I don't think he ever would have come back as it would have looked on the outside like his move failed.

the club nurtured him in to a half decent player and at the first chance, he jumped ship. why stick up for him?

Bolton have better hairdressers than Barnsley, obviously.

Equally, why abuse him like many did at the game?

Agree about the booing/chanting, it was pretty moronic. I was quite surprised. He had a good spell with us and deserved his move to the Premier League, which in turn brought us in a decent bit of cash. I can understand him going to Bolton ahead of us. If his parent club advise he goes there, then surely it's in his best interests to go there and impress the Norwich staff.

He wasn't particularly impressive but it was his first game with a new team. Good luck to the lad.
