How many people on here have actually taken part in sport at a high level and had to train hard for the same ? Cue stupid replies . . .
I presume it's all relative. I played amateur rugby league at the highest level possible and trained as hard as possible to be the best I could. On top of working a full time job But I suppose these players work much harder. not sure what your point is
Point is I sit near people who have never played sport in their lives , as with many on here, before some criticise others they ought to think 'what have I achieved in my life, have I put any effort into anything I've done & do really understand the game of football? ' All respect to any form of rugby players too . . .
not to extent of todays sportspersons but have had a pretty gruelling training regime in my time, but you still have to have the skill and effort otherwise those in opposition that have been training just as hard will make you look second rate in front of onlookers.
Did judo to a very good junior level (I blame mario for ruining my olympic dream). Played football to a good amateur level. What does that get me?
how do you know they havnt achieved anything, have you asked them or are you assuming because of the way they slag players off,
It does remind me of attending Hamilton Academicals vs. Celtic a few years ago at New Douglas Park, I was sat with the Celtic fans, and Anthony Stokes was beaten in the air within the first 30 seconds and a rather large gentleman in front of me was going absolutely mental at Stokes for not winning the header, he was asked if he thought he could've won said aerial challenge, which didn't go down too well. We're all experts in the field of football while sat in the stand or in front of the TV, regardless of our previous experiences.
if only people went to sporting events who had trained or done the sports you'd have empty stadiums all over the country spectator sports are supposed to do exactly whats on the tin if you went to see a favourite singer and their performance was well below par would you not be able to comment cos you hadn't had singing lessons.
And I thought I was a complete bell end. Thanks for proving there are bigger pillocks than me around. Let me get this straight, because I and many others weren't born with a talented right foot that means that despite watching thousands upon thousands of games of football at all levels in my life I am not allowed any opinion on what I see simply because I haven't played at the highest level? What utter utter ******** you spout. I've achieved quite a lot with my life ta. Got a job that I enjoy, live in a house that I like, have a family who I love and spend time doing things that I like doing and I put a hell of a lot of effort into things that I do, if I put the tiny amount of effort into my job that some footballers do into theirs I'd be on the dole tomorrow. But you're right, unless you've played in the premiership you better shut up and stop criticising footballers who play ***** because you know nothing. I'll tell you one thing though, I knew cardiff would have a field day against our defence and I was right. How can that be though? I've never played at the highest level so how could I possibly know something? I'm nothing but an imbecile who has achieved nothing right? Arsehole
Represented RAF at golf two seasons ago for a few fixtures, hit lots of balls on the range and played lots and lots of golf that year for both club and station if thats what you mean...
I represented Yorkshire at swimming for 3 years, swam every day for at least 2 hrs, usually more, absolutely gave everything always and hated losing. Never understood the others that could laugh and joke after losing. As I got older i can understand it more, but when you are losing it should make you want to give more, not accept it. Maybe I am wrong!
As an aside, there was an individuals sat behind me at the Bolton match last week. He spent the entire first half criticising Stephen Foster - even though he wasn't on the field of play. IMHO, not everyone is entitled to an option.
I agree, but this post is aimed not at that person , but at anyone that dares to have an opinion on how well or poorly we are playing, just because we have not played at Championship football level it does not mean we are fecking idiots either!! I cant play the guitar very well but it does not prevent me knowing that Carlos Santana is bloody good !!!
I have managed in my time to get National instructor level as a scuba diver through B.S-A.C (British Sub-Aqua Club) silver level at ski-ing through BASI (British Association of Ski Instructors) and got down to a handicap of 10 in golf is that ok for your survey I also was an instructor in the RAF teaching jet propulsion, but hey that was just my job, LOL
