played the wrong players, in the wrong positions, substituted the wrong players and played the wrong tactics. Well done Keith, well done.

    Taking Dawson off? Chuff me.

They did but he still took the wrong players off.

Mellis was walking around like he didn't give a **** and Dawson was winning everything.

Mellis was creating things and scoring our only goal today.

Dawson should have scored in first half too.

Dawson was crap today. Glad your not our manager didn't start playing until he brought the subs on.

suppose you would have taken mellis off and settled for 2-0

Done on the right always cuts in. Easy for Champioship defenders.

I thought he got the subs right. Problem was he should have started with what he ended with (plus foster and tudgay instead of wiseman/mcnulty and sinclair).

For me he is not playing his best starting 11.
We have 4 players at the club who are better at centre half than Wiseman. Foster, Hassell, Crainie and Edwards. We have at least 2 players who are better right backs than Wiseman - Stones and Hassell.
I'd have picked any of the following ahead of Done - Jim O Brien, RNL (and possibly Silva, though I have not seen him play!)
I'd pick anyone at left back apart from Goldborne, until Keith goes to a 442. (we have no width at all with the current formtion, and a full back who refuses to offer an option)
Stop messing with the formation. Get back to 442, and pick your best team, and stick to it. Football really does not have to be complicated.

    Poor Golbourne

You criticise him if he doesn't go forward, then criticise him when he does and deride him for being brought down in the penalty area. When you don't like a player, you REALLY don't like him!:D

    Re: Poor Golbourne

It might not be fashionable in these parts but I actually quite like Golbourne. The diamond formation doesn't help full backs as they don't have cover for them if they go forward and although notionally he had Mellis in front of him yesterday because he's not comfortable playing wide he couldn't cover Golbourne if he went forward. I lost count of the number of times they were able to double up on our full backs yesterday.

I thought he got it wrong starting Done and not Noble-Lazarus after how they both played at Bolton. Didn't think Dawson was having his best game, and whilst I agree Mellis was poor in the first half, he was our best attacking threat after the substitutions.

    I like the lad

For me, although, his form has dipped a bit this last month, he's a good Championship full back. He's a good defender and will get better. Being an old fashioned git, I expect defenders to defend & strikers to score goals. Anything else they may bring to the table is a bonus.
I like Scott Golbourne and, in my opinion, he thoroughly deserves to be our first choice left back.

    Re: I like the lad

At the start of the season, I thought he looked good. Thought we might have a really good player on our hands. He's decent at tackling, and looks reasonably comfortable on the ball.

The system that Keith plays is really not helping the full backs. They are too exposed alot of the time, but if he insists on that system, then other players should be covering when fullbacks have an opportunity to get forward. It might not be Goldbourne's fault, maybe he's under instructions, but I'm fed up of seeing 80 squre yards of free space, and an obvious run, and SG putting the brakes on.

As for the penalty claim ... I was unsure at the time, and haven't seen it since.
