Although we played a top 2 side - and although we had 4 new players at the club..........I'm starting to get worried about the situation at Barnsley We looked poor going forward against Cardiff.......but then again they are a top 2 side so you would expect them to be good defensively. Plus........if Foster is not at centre back then we have no one at the back that can dominate high balls into the box Which is a concern when we play Wendy........cos they have tall strong players I just hope Keith and the club hasn't left it too late to try and salvage something from this season. If the rot sets in then its going to take a huge effort to turn things around. Lets hope that Keith and Flicker can get the players working together this week. Unfortunatly we have a mid-week game..........so that in itself is not going to make things any easier. On a positive note - the effort is still there and there seems to be no evidence that the heads of the players are dropping........ Its about time that Barnsley fans had a respite from continually being in the bottom 6..........it actually wears people down........no wonder the attendances are dropping
For me it's simple... Play our best team and we'll be ok, but carry on picking players that aren't good enough and Hill will take us down. Most people in the ground yesterday could see our weaknesses.
thats why I dont think he's the calibre of manager some think he is,he's a lot more to do,including staying up without the help of somebody elses admin. having said that the comments he's given in recent days with regards to looking after number one have given me a glimmer of hope that there maybe change ahead.Maybe i'm clutching at straws? yesterdays substitutions were the first i've seen during hills watch thats had any sort of impact on the game.
Yes I still think Hill and Flicker are the best management team that suits Barnsley As for the substitutions........after new players have been brought in, I think a team has got to remain the same until those players understand what they need to do within the team. So its going to take time for the new players to be intergrated............problem is....we haven't got much time So Keeef might just throw them in and hope for the best
Actually, for a team at the top, they have shipped quite a few goals away from home this season. They are NOT good defensively. Had we paid them a little less respect, I feel they were there for the taking. Despite this, we had at least four good opportunities in open play. Dawson practically missed an open net at 0 - 1.
Before yesterday, Cardiff's away record this season was worse, by a goal difference of 3, than ours (though they had played one game fewer). That is pretty poor!
