I'll be completely honest and say that up until Saturday I was 100% behind Keith but after Saturday my faith in him started to wane. Tuesday is pivotal for me, I think Keith is now walking a tightrope with the fans and board (Don and PC). He and he alone can turn the tide but he has to lose the blind-spot for certain players if he is to do it. So in summary I still think he is the right man and best man for the job but I am losing patience.
Something feels like it has changed. The way Hill is speaking, the actions he's taking... it feels like he's almost abdicated responsibility and the protective shroud he put around the players. To start to u-turn against that and speak completely short termist, I actually wonder if he knows he is going and he's just trying to do a band aid job til a changing of guard occurs? Could be wrong, but something isn't ringing true at the minute.
I think there are probably lots of other managers who could do better (I won't name them), but of the names touted around as a replacement for Hill then for me I'd rather stick with him and spend any compensation money we might have had to shell out on player recruitment. I think we'll most likely go down, but I also think we're a result away from a decent run. Our lack of confidence bothers me more than anything else. I'd like us to play without fear.
He's been allowed to bring in a few decent loan signings after moaning about it all year, since bringing those in they've played one game against the top of the table (apart from Tudgay). I'll reserve judgement until a few weeks when we've at least had 3/4/5 games with these players in and against much shitter sides than Cardiff.
The other 91 clubs used to play without him even when he wasn't injured. And they still do, to this day.
This squad has only played one game. The previous squad (minus Davies and Steele) clearly wasnt good enough and no manager wouldve kept us up. This is where Im at: I think Hill can still keep us in this division if he can remove the 'blindspot' he seems to have with Wiseman. I'll go as far as to say if he doesnt drop Wiseman, I wont be surprised or even disappointed if he's sacked.
Never thought it to be true. It's akin to saying Keith Hill is the best manager in the world, which is just ludicrous, although such a notion seemed to be popular - Christ knows why. That doesn't mean I want him sacked. I don't think a small club like ours has any right to demand the best manager in the world.
Do you believe any other manager would WANT to do the job. That's my argument, Mark Robins was brought in to work on a budget, he got a fair bit of backing and still walked because of lack of resources. Maybe Keith Hill is the only one who will give it a go on this budget, unless we go dipping into the lower leagues again, but I mean whats the point, both Mark Robins and Keith Hill were plucked from the lower leagues. The sad matter of fact is we're being forced out of this league by the greed of others. And I for one think we won't go down without a fight.
I would expect Keith to be in charge even if we were to be relegated. Rightly or wrongly, that is open to debate. But that is what I expect. I really don't think Keith's job is at risk at all, simply because, who would replace him?
I think this is last chance hotel and I think Keith knows it. He struggles to motivate players - last season's post xmas run is being repeated now. His selections are often bewildering these days too. He's been adept at reducing expectation tho thru his constant moaning which has the spin off of protecting his job despite repeated failures on the pitch. Can't think we can carry on past Xmas with him tho if we don't pick up points...
