    Baffling.

Statistically the worst manager ever and less likable than Simon Davey yet somehow there has been a hardly any voice of dissension against him. Even yesterday after his eighth home game in a row without a victory and yet another turgid display, fans are still singing his name. Mental.

It just shows how successful Operation: Lower Expectations has actually been as at any other time in our history people would have been clamouring for his head and rightly so.

I fear Hill is here for the long haul and this will only be to the detriment of the club and the fans.

How can you describe Hill as being "less likeable than Simon Davey" and then go on to say "hardly any voice of dissent against him..............fans were still singing his name"? Both these commenst are polar opposites of each other !!!!

Hill did learn a few lessons from recent games and improved us last night versus Burnley........still has opportunities to improve further, even with the squad we have, if he plays correct players (which means dropping McNulty) and a better formation (wingers).

Hill to stay and battle through this and keep learning his lessons/improving.

Is he learning any lessons though? Width is a rare commodity in his team and when it comes it usually equals crosses and goals (last two home games) then we have players out of position i.e. Mellis and the Davies being pushed wide to cross where he shoudl be because the nominal winger is tucked inside. Then the substitution of Davies....

We are STILL wasting free kicks and throw ins in good areas by insisting on going backwards or short.

How can he be the worse manager ever? if its on ppg game then surely the level they're playing at needs to be took into consideration. Do you really think he's got a budget now that were able to sign a couple of players from Championship clubs and can now be compared to Robins and Davey? These will hardly be costing the board a fortune, Tudgay and Greening here for a month, both hardly played this season, a player from the division's bottom team and another from a cashed strapped club. I wouldn't exactly say Hill's been given a barrel of money all of a sudden.

On the other hand he could be a ***** manager with money, like Danny Wilson.

It does not need to be taken into consideration until the FL take it into consideration.

Gordon, we've spent 75% of our history at this level. People seem to forget we're not Doncaster Rovers. It's a fair to judge Hill against any other manager who has managed at this level - many who had to face financial constraints.

Is a massive credit to those fans that can take things in context

And can appreciate that keeping a team at this level on a relatively low fanbase is a wholly different prospect to doing the same job in the 80's and most of the 90's.

Redstar............Rome was not built in a day........

Of course we can still improve (as can any team) but I think Hill has recently learned:-

    (1) Steele is a better keeper than Alnwick
    (2) Wiseman needs a rest, hopefully a long rest
    (3) We needed proven Championship experienece, so we got this in Greening, Buszaky & Tudgay (Sinclair to a lesser extent, but still improves our striker options)
    (4) Etuhu, Done, Harewood, Dagnall simply not good enough at this level and have not featured
    (5) Acknowledged fans are still backing him and club (which, in general, they are)

Your points on width/wingers, wasting free kicks, etc are definite areas for further improvement.

    14 years - 14 managers.

Not a reason of course to keep Hill, but not only do you have to find a good replacement manager, but one who is willing and able to work with the players Hill has brought in, as there will not be a massive change of playing staff (again) due to budget constraints.

Simply because one statement contradicts the other !!!

Usually if you are "less likeable" then you would not be singing his/her name?

    S I M P L E .............. or am I missing something?

What he means is HE thinks he is less likeable, therefore he's confused as to why others are singing his name.

Kenny Jackett seems to be doing ok. As did Ian Holloway and Brendan Rodgers. And Sean Dyche at Watford last year.

I was looking at the Newcastle away program from 2010. Out of a full squad of players we have 4 left - Steele, Hassell, Foster, Lazarus.

So a turnover of 30+ players in just over 2 years. Sides like Milwall have consistency of squad, manager etc. Patience is a virtue.

But we keep doing the same things and expecting different results under Hill. Not bothered either way to tell you the truth if he stays or goes but I'm bored silly of the same pattern of play, going backwards from throw ins and free kicks, playing with little or no width, tippy tappy crap by teh wrong players etc etc.

Hill can change his destiny. I just don't think he will.
