Now I'm happy to admit I don't think he is good enough, but he has closed his Twitter account after abuse from fans.

I think that is shocking to be honest. Whoever these 'fans' are need to take a look at themselves.

Was it abuse or just people telling him they think he isn't good enough like that lad who came on here a couple of weeks ago?

Can't stop people giving their opinion on an open forum. I don't agree with abusing players but if he is hiding because some don't think he is any good then he needs a new career.

I don't use the twitter thing myself, but no-one should be abused on twitter....I don't think it's right going on even to tell someone you think they're crap to me it's still a form of abuse.Just leave them alone and let the manager do his job.

If I was a player there is no way I would want a Twitter account and if I was a manager I would ban my players from having one. Some people need to take a long hard look at themselves.

He must hear those same things in the ground too. Probably with more choice language than on twitter too. I personally would never directly abuse a player but if it is more of the same as the lad that was on here I wouldn't say it was abuse. Like I said can't stop people giving their opinion. I will stand down on this though as it must be more than that. It must be.

Mario - think the problem will be that Keith Hill or BFC cannot really legally enforce a "no use of Social Media rule".........BUT he should use this deplorable example for the rest of the squad ie. do not use Twitter as you are liable to come into contact with idiots.

In times gone by, pro players always used to try and stay out of the general public eye, so as to avoid face-to-face confrontations, so I really can't understand why any modern-day footballer would open up his life on Social Media platforms.......it is STUPID and makes no sense.

Message to Wiseman : keep working hard to improve lad......you've made it to a far better level of football than anyone one of us could have personally dreamed of.....keep at it.......ignore idiots !!!

These "fans" you talk about are probably incapable of self-criticism or even of any level of rational thought process.

    Good grief

What makes people resort to such actions as posting abusive messages?

    Strength of character?

I'd imagine there are hundreds of footballers and other sportsmen up and down the country that have twitter accounts and read blogs etc and get dogs abuse but take that with the territory. Not condoning personal insults, but by taking his ball home he's hardly proving the doubters wrong, more a show of weakness imho hence my comments about him not being up for the fight.

How you know it's because of abuse from fans and not just because he's got bored of it? What sort of abuse from fans did he get on there? All I see is a player has closed his account and the reasons for that happening is just hearsay unless Scott himself has answered it.

He takes a lot of unnecessary criticisms on here and at matches as for twitter I don't know because I don't use it but I've said it before and I'll say it again were not leaking goals to the extent that were being beaten out of site every game it's more to do with us not scoring enough! As soon as we went one nil down it was game over a few weeks ago but the Bolton and burnley games show we can compete and with these new players improving all the time things are looking a lot brighter than a month or so ago! Wiseman or mcnulty at the back I'm not bothered we need to start scoring and everything will be fine!

Keith did mention in his last RS interview that abuse on Twitter was getting to certain players, without mentioning Wiseman by name. My opinion, do not join Twitter if you are in the public eye and do not like verbal abuse.

If people are calling him **** and saying he shouldn't be in the team it's not really any different to people posting the same on here. It's still there for anyone including the person in question to read. If someone has told him to go die or break a leg or **** off back to Rochdale etc then that would be a problem. We don't know to what extent the abuse was to.
