Do people genuinely believe that Hassel isn't good enough to make our matchday squad?

Serious opinions only please so Tyrone1 and Hemsworth Tyke in particular, please butt out. This is not an anti-Wiseman post either. Now I'm not one for sentiment when it comes to selecting the team, but I do believe in a level of fairness. I only ever read from a certain very few posters on here that they don't think he's good enough, yet, In the ground , the pub etc, people talk about how the hell he isn't in the team let alone on the bench. I would've had him alongside Foster on Tuesday as I didn't think McNulty played particularly well against Cardiff (albeit coming back from a long injury) Stones would've been at right back also.
I certainly think KH couldn't be more wrong on this issue.
With the exception of the afore-mentioned, I wonder how many (if any) of the people who now say they don't rate Hassel are being influenced by their support for our manager or whether they genuinely think he's not good enough for our matchday squad. I don't want KH out (not yet anyway) but if wins don't materialise soon then I'm certain that with many fans, this issue could be the straw that breaks the camels back.

I think he's good enough, Keith doesn't, Keith is in charge.

I can't remember us ever having a manager that picked the players I rated the most in a formation I thought would serve us best. This situation with Keith and Bobby is no different to that of dozens of other managers who have left out players I thought could do a very good job.

I think Keith's wrong with regards to Bobby Hassell, but I also think he knows a hell of a lot more about football than me and it's his head on the line, so it's his decision that's final.

I don't think he's the better than anything we've got in any position at the moment. I think Hill will probably stick with the Cranie-Foster-NcNulty-Golbourne back four for a while now. He also sees him more as a central midfielder and he's not going to get in ahead of Buszacky, Greening, Mellis, Dawson and Perkins (when fit). Good servant but I think most view him through rose-tinted glasses.

He's good enough in terms of heart and commitment, I don't think you should select someone on these qualities alone. He is as good as we are at this level, and has proved that for a long time. As we merit our status in this league, so Bobby merits his place in the squad. He's getting older now and it's natural a successor will steal his place. Question is who? Unfortunately we can't marry Bobby's experience and attitude with John Stones' undoubtable natural talent.

There isn't much to choose between our defenders, they are all capable of dropping the odd bollack. But if we are going down I'd rather do it with a fight rather than a whimper. So yes, pick Bobby at least in a match day squad..

    I think he's good enough.

But I also think Dagnall, Collins, Edwards, Kennedy, Harewood and Etuhu are. He's just another player who's got a history with us. I understand fowk getting the monk on but he has played this season, he got sent off and played centre half in two games that we lost. Talk of chanting his name in games, it being the straw that breaks the camels back etc is mental and a bit PMT/emotional.

hes good enough for about 20 minutes or so when everyone is getting tired in my opinion.

shouldnt be a starter but should be available on bench if needed just for the experiance he has.

I believe Bobby Hassell can do a job for us

At right back and make a positive contribution to the team. Others think differently (including Keith Hill) which is fair enough. However, just because these people see the situation from another point of view doesn't mean they're wrong, or show a lack of footballing knowledge. In the same way, just because I have my own beliefs neither does that indicate ignorance, nor am I viewing his abilities through rose tinted glasses. I simply hold a different opinion, that's all.

I think he is good enough and there is no doubting his total commitment to his job when he has his shirt on. I could live with him not being first choice but for him to not even be in the squad or in Hills plans in defence is just ridiculous.

Bobby is out of the squad for non footballing reasons
He is better than Wiseman and Mcnulty put together

Hassell for me is the best utility player we have, Keith thinks most of his squad are better utility players than Hassell he wins unless his winless streak continues then he may pander to fan pressure again.

We now have competition for places throughout the squad so it's going to be tough for him to get back in. Who Keith picks or does not pick he is not going to be agreed with by 100 % of the supporters but i cannot see that bothering him.

Thanks everyone, a reasonable thread for a change.

Just wanted to see what people on here felt without the sentiment either for or against him. From this thread then it does seem that there is a more balanced view regarding the whether Bobby should be playing or not, unlike where I sit in the ground and the circles I hang around in.

Do people genuinely believe that Hassel isn't good enough to make our matchday...........FFS !!!........No he isnt good enough

The manager and team coach think he's not good enough and anyone who knows anything about football also knows he isn't good enough

The sooner Hassell leaves the building the better it will be for all concerned so a serious debate can then be had on the real problems facing the team and the club

Over 10m; Wiseman is quicker than Hassell by 1m.........thats the difference between getting to the ball first or an opposition striker getting to the ball first...........put simply; thats why Wiseman is in and Hassell is out

Nudger's right... The only quality needed to be a professional footballer is pace. That's why Usain Bolt plays for Chelsea. Oh wait...

There you go then. Everyone else gives us their opinion, saying what they think or what they believe. Young Nudger tells us how it is, and we don't know anything about football unless we agree with him. And he swears at us for good measure.

Glad that's sorted, we can move on to another subject now.
