The point is Keith Hill has not addressed the defence and has played Wiseman (up until recently), McNulty is garbage (today again proving this point), he signed Collins and he's not played, he signed Edwards and he's not played, he's got Bobby Hassell and he's not played.

Keith Hill is not as good as he thinks he is............in fact he's becoming a laughing stock with his tactics, decisions, interviews, etc.

There are many people out there who could do a better job (and I would back myself in that) : Phil Brown, Billy Davies, Aidy Boothroyd, George Burley, Craig Levein, Alan Curbishley, Gary McAllister, John Sheridan, David Unsworth, Paul Ince, Roy Keane, Gareth Southgate, Gary Megson.

What about Gerry Taggart currently assistant at Oldham Athletic......

Hill is out of his depth. You couldn't even name an handful of enjoyable matches with Hill as manager during his time here. Why can't he see what we the fans can see? Like how Sir Bobby can't get even on the bench? Like how we have no width in the team? Like how we can't defend from a set piece? Like how we could get a couple of extra decent players in if we weren't wasting money on a squad of nearly 40 players? How guys like Edwards and Collins were brought in and not given a chance?

Sorry but it looks like we will have to agree to disagree. Quite interesting actually to see how people's views can vary so widely watching the same games. I genuinely thought we were pretty good second half Tuesday, still playing nice football but with a but more direct stuff as well with two up front to hold it up. It's this that makes me think there is still potential to modify the setup we have now rather than going back to square one.

ETA Dreamy I'm not saying he's perfect just that the alternative, IMHO, of giving up and starting again won't do us any good. As I wrote above as well though the Bobby Hassell situation does mystify me a bit, can only assume he's fallen out with him, wasn't there a rumour of a player's bar incident at one time?

Hill won't change how we play and this us what needs to change to get the results we are getting increasingly desperate for

I hear what you are saying, but that's where Keith is his own worst enemy, I think many of us can see a decent side out of the squad we have, but his sometimes bewildering choices of players, and often in the wrong positions is extremely frustrating.

I was looking forward to the game after he brought the loan players in, but upon turning up at the ground was left with a feeling of 'who, why...and he's playing him where?'

I think he missed the chance there to force a turning point, I don't want him sacked but I just hope he sees the light soon (very)! I think the Wednesday game is another chance for a turning point, lets hope we take the right fork in the road.

I was working Tuesday so ill refrain from commenting too much.

Thing is, the games I've seen this season have been as a rule depressing devoid of ideas lack of passion and littered with errors both by personal on and off the field and the blatant refusal to play a settled XI and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Steve Davis for me. He has made a promising start.

My support for Hill has been consistent, as my posts up to the last few games will testify, but I have run out of patience now. We must change things now or we are going to be relegated. Hill has been backed and allowed to bring in championship standard players but we're just getting steadily worse.

But Curblishley, Levein, Southgate, Keane, Burley and Brown are in my opinion, out of our reach for various reasons. Unsworth unproven, Sheridan would be like Hill but with less lower league success, Boothroyd and Megson are hoof ball managers. Not disagreeing that someone out there could do better, but that person is not easily identifiable.

Steve Davis, Jan Aage Fjortoft, Robinson at MK Dons.

I don't see a failed high profile name ever been the answer to a club like ours (Burley, Levein, McAllister, Keane, etc.)

Not by default at all! Hill brought most of these defenders into the club, he hasn't addressed their shortcomings or recruited better defenders, therefore its all hills fault and should go on that strength alone. Lose to Wednesday and he needs the boot!

Re: We should consider sacking Keith Hill

Look at Keith Hill's record - it speaks for itself - a terrible end to last season. We were at sea after the departures of our two star players - no loan signings appeared, and the management clearly had no answer to combat the demise. This season, after an ok start, results are ebbing away; again.

Take a look at Rochdale's results when they were promoted - under Hill - they lost one match, for example, 1-7 at Lincoln City. And there were other odd results (defeats) in their promotion season - it very much reminds me of our bizarre form, albeit, unfortunately we are far worse in this regard!

Our defence is a joke and has been for some time. I recall when Mel Machin was manager and he appointed, I think it was John Benson, to sit on a stool at the edge of the pitch on match days and give the defence hell. Things were that bad; but it worked. Hill simply hasn't got a clue.

If you listen to the "wisdom" uttered on BBC Radio Sheffield we should give thanks and hope for nothing more than a drubbing every week, survive in the championship and sell all our best players. For we can hope for no better than what Keith Hill has achieved. This is utter rubbish.

We started the season with not enough strikers (our new loan signings may help in the short term), but we still have a defence day dreaming through every match. As someone else pointed out - you don’t need tons of cash to be organised; and we are not. That’s why we are in trouble.

I’d give Hill a while longer; but not too long - it’s a right mess!

Good post sums things up perfectly.
