Let's get it right, who will come to Oakwell with names we've talked about on this board in the last few hours. OBVIOUSLY IF KEITH HILL GOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dave Jones- Not yet sacked from Wednesday but with no jobs around, could be a possibility if new owners come in. Can't see him replacing Hill whilst Cryne is still in charge due to wages and budget. Gary Megson - Would be bookies favourite. Northern lad, not fussed about challenges and also gets the fans behind his team. Wouldn't be surprised if he was the next Reds boss if Hill goes. Kevin Blackwell - No chance. Doing a good job at Bury. Phil Brown - Was willing to drop down to League 1 with Hartlepool so happy with a challenge as proved with the Hull job. Would have been in the running for the Bolton and Blackpool jobs so wanting to work. My first choice without a doubt. Paul Jewell - Managed both clubs he supports, Wigan and Bradford so probably happy with any other work in the Championship. Can't see him coming unless Archibald takes over. His managerial record is fairly impressive win percentage wise. Billy Davies - If any job comes along in Scotland, I reckon that would be his first choice. Again wages would be the problem and whether Archibald takes over or not, we won't be able to afford him. My choice: Preferably Joe Joyce. Would be happy with a Neil Redfearn / Andy Liddell partnership and also would be pleased with Steve Agnew. Controversial or not, I believe a former Red should take over for one reason or the other.
Oh god, not the old Neil Redfearn punt again. Why, Why, WHY???. He has been gash as a manager everywhere he's tried. Why on earth would we want a gash manager just because he was a legend as a player. If you want to use that logic, go for Bobby Hassell - I'd rather have a punt on a player who we have no idea is any good as a manager than a player who we know for sure isn't.
Wages wouldn't be the problem. Budget would. If we sacked hill, davies would be my first choice if possible. If not, Megson to keep us up with a turgid 6 months ahead.
If you're looking for someone that's not too expensive several managers named in last years study of football's best managers (Steve Tilson, Paul Simpson and John Beck) are now managing non-league teams and shouldn't be too expensive, mind you, Steve Parkin is also on the list  http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/f340caae-47cd-11e1-b646-00144feabdc0.html#axzz2DqkePFAu
Lets get Dave Red Hot Currie in to the manager 'Hot' seat or what about a Darren Sheridan, Adie Moses partnership? Or even better for this site get Georgi Hristov in?
Ashley Ward as player manager, Dean Windass would be good for a pi55 up, once met George Hampstead's daughter in Magaluf, apparantly he managed a fishing tackle shop... Im not too fond of change, I want Keith to turn it around, hope he does, if not and we go down i'd still give him a chance in league 1. You may think i'm bonkers but i quite enjoyed some of the league 1 away games, went to port vale, chesterfield, cheltenham and walsall to name a few. Yes i get annoyed when we loose and the wife knows why i'm grumpy but that's part of the game. I also understand PC's running of the club, we're all from yorkshire and we like to look after the pennies. If we want to succeed we need more money through our own means, we need bums on seats, if the borough of Barnsley homes over 200,000 people and we struggle to entice 5% of those people then thats the problem! Any ideas? We use to give out free tickets to schools, when was the last time that happened?
Stuart Gray till end of season, buy a bit of time also see how he performs, dont think he`s working at moment. Just a suggestion like. Managers and players sometimes fit like a comfy glove, dont think Keith ever did fit our club. Eddie Howe is a good example with Bournemouth they just seem to be right for each other.
Is anyone any good on Football Manager? You should contact Don...... http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/oddbal...-as-manager-based-on-computer-game-experience
You are all like a set of Lemmings. Everybody throwing themselves over the cliff. Give him two or three games to get the new lads bedded in and then see how we are performing. I do agree that he talks a load of crap. I personally think the brains behind the outfit is Flicker. We have to get back to the beginning of the season mentality. We were playing good football, nobody was getting near us, and we had a good team. That team is still there. If he cannot turn it round by January, then I back you all the way. Davies would be the best manager for us. Good man management, good football and good track record. Keep the ranks in file and stop running
