I would like to read the opinion of as many of you as possible on this. I think it is easier to have just the one thread dedicated to it. By all means vote in the poll (tried to include as many options as possible) but please add your thoughts too. . So, as of today, the 3rd of December, where do you stand on the future of Keith Hill? Do you want him out now? Do you want him here indefinitely? Perhaps you want to give him a certain period to turn things around..? I look forward to your thoughts on this. Thanks.
I am torn between hoping he can turn it around and thinking enough is enough, get shut. The latter is current favourite. But gettting shot of Keef is not the whole answer, it is the present lot above him that need to go too. Their small time mentality is coming home to roost...
Echos my views exactly. I REALLY want keith do do well here, I like what he's trying to do and when it works we play some outstanding football. But it's getting to a point where we're a bit of a joke now. 2nd worst team in form for the whole of europe? Shocking. I'm not sure if sacking him is the answer or not, that's on eof the many reasons i'm not the owner of a football club. I think 15th December may be the biggest match in his career here at Barnsley. Crucial game for the fan's view on him, we lose that and I think even the biggest Keith fans will have had enough.
Personally like the majority of us on here I've always stuck by him and not for one minute did I think that sacking him would be the answer to our problems however of late my loyalty to him has wavered somewhat, I'm still clinging to idea that just maybe he can turn this around, as I said yesterday I firmly believe that we've enough in this current squad to be at the very least mid table so maybe it's a case of the Hill just not been good enough in the championship, Now I know sacking him still may not be the answer to our problems but also I don't want us to leave it too late that we end up been cut adrift at the bottom. If I'm pushed for an answer then I would say give him until the Wednesday game then if nothing changes then I'm afraid it's time for him to go. That's only my opinion though
I agree with RS on this. I really want to be wrong and for him to turn things around so I think he should get the next two games but I fear it may be another six points dropped. I am just dreading a feeble surrender against Wednesday similar to the one we got just before Davey was given the job permanently.
The Wednesday game is the big one, if we lose that I'm afraid it's time to go. Win it and it might just turn our season around.
Those wanting rid of him are in effect trusting the people who made the last appointment and previous ones to make another and hope they make a better job. Which is odd to say the least.
I really wanted to go for stick with him regardless but I'm sure that if we give him to the end of the season he'll have turned things round. I also think that getting on his back, because that's what this thread will end up doing, won't help things one bit. He needs our support.
This is somewhat dangerous thinking though, as just because he wins one and loses another doesnt mean we wont stop up or go down. The worry should be that we dont look like winning and that our good play earlier in the season which earned us some hard-earned points and then some good wins has been lost and we're looking like we dont know what to do. If we play brilliantly against Wednesday and Davies misses two guilt edge chances to win and we still lose 1-0 via a soft penalty - then what?
I don't trust any of them. I've said elsewhere that getting shot of Hill is only part of teh any potential solution. In fact I'd be happy if Hill stayed and the rest pissed off.
We can't keep rotating managers every season and a half whilst ever those who develop the framework that the managers have to work in remian unscathed. And what does Barry Taylor DO for BFC exactly ? How much money does he put in ? How much revenue does he generate ? Sack Hill, appoint another sap and yer can all go **** yersens in't 'board' room.
And he will get it at Oakwell. In fact I've never seen a manager do so poorly and still have his name chanted...
I agree with getting shut of the lot of them above him. Their small time thinking has led us to this position. In fact I'd be happy to keep Hill if those above were changed, if it meant that the ethos oand teh ambition of the club changed a little.
On the football side of things i think they have done ok with recent managerial appointments, Robins, Davey and Hill were all good choices at the time in my view. The trouble has been they've all done well and then slid backwards after a good start, leaving fans frustrated and the club looking to ship out more players and ship more in. There has been no real continuation and that is a major problem in trying to football wise progress towards mid-table, which would be a good finish for the club at the moment. I think some people are a bit wary of saying "Sack the board" in a out and out protest because this infers Cryne should go too, and quite rightly he's seen as the golden goose that lays golden eggs. To critisize the board so veciforously is at the same time questioning his judgment. Bit of a catch-22 i think.
Why should he be beyond criticsm? I know he saved the club but his tenure is hardly covered in glory is it? "There's a story to be told"
It has to change. I fully accept us operating within our means, totally. We just need people on board who can extend those 'means'. Stokes' replies on Twitter to Gordon Owen re: Dean Hoyle at Huddersfield are telling. It's easy to hide and say he's just thrown money at Huddersfield - he hasn't, he's built a commercial engine that drives the club forwards. We ******* **** ourselves at the thought of talking to people outside of S70.
Ive backed him from day one untill the way we lost at Watford. Playing players out of position playing his favored players am losing all hope if we sack him who do we get? id give him till after the fowles game than ta ta Keefy as for next manager id go for Billy Davis if we could afford him whatever happens i think we will go down
