My first game 1959 Barnsley 1 Luton 0 Jackie Lunn lobbed the ball into the goal at what is now the Ponty End, Was stood right down by the wall behind the goalnet. Remember the sound as it the ball bounced over the line and rippled up the net and bounced down again. As a young lad then I was hooked. Ran across the terrace dancing up and down. It was like a party to me then. Supported us every year since then----53 years--qualify as an old git now.

Good post Mark. I tend not to talk about my faith on here cos I can't be bothered to get dragged into an argument about it, but I wish more people had the conviction to talk about it openly. Maybe one day I will !!!

Mate , no-one can take away your faith! Only you can mis-place it, it will always be there waiting for you to return back to it, better and stronger than before.
I know what you mean about others wanting to argue and " prove" that there is no God, fair do`s to them, maybe they are right and i am wrong, but that is the chance they take. I know how I feel and I know how my faith helps me . I keep hearing about how religion is the cause of most of the worlds wars! No , that is down to the lunatics, not the religion. There are crazies in all walks of life.

    Barnsley 0 Southport 0 : Saturday 15th October 1966

I think it was only the 4th point Barnsley picked up that season.

Rock bottom of the old 4th Division.

    (un)Happy days!
