It won't sell out of course but I'd have liked my own seat or choice of it. Suppose it's a chance for folk to try new seats as be plenty of room next season to move!

Good price but I'll be annoyed if someone sits in my seat.

There will be approximately 16,000 seats going spare.

I ca't believe anyone is bothered about "having their own seat"

... and judging by the last 2 games, if you get there ten minutes before K.O. the place is empty anyway.

I wonder how many fans that will put off. For me the biggest reason I go to games at the moment is the social aspect. I've given up on being entertained on the pitch so for me it's about spending time with family and friends and speaking to the same people every week who you come to know at the football and i'm sure a lot of people do this more than me. To take that part away and tell fans they could end up sat next to anyone and most likely not have the same faces around them, i wonder how many will stop at home because of it?

Also i was always under the impression that a season ticket guaranteed YOUR seat for cup games. I know it's highly unlikely but it is possible that fans in the ponty end or west stand won't even be able to sit in the same stand as usual nevermind the same seat.

Shame it's not reserved seating (pretty sure it was for Swansea at home in the FA Cup last year?) but most likely the majority in attendance will be ST holders that will probably sit in their usual seats anyway. Decent enough prices anyway

Lazy and piss poor customer service again. Creating their own problems by not having reserved seating. Now you will end up with cranky people sitting in someone elses seat or sitting somewhere different in the second half annoying someone who's lost their seat. Beggars belief does this and will probably put more off going than make wanna go more.

Really? Alternatively, you could look at it with the viewpoint that the club is not wasting money printing off "allocated seat tickets" in a situation where it is totally un-necessary. Money well saved, and folks can still sit where they like. If it's that important be in the ground at 2.45pm.

I've been mega critical of the marketing of the club in the last year or two but people who can't be satisfied with a seat pretty close to where they sit (if indeed they can';t get their own), need to get a life. In the big scheme of things it just doesn't matter.

But if buy in advance they will still print you a ticket that says 'East Stand Lower - Unreserved Seating' on it. Also if you pay on the gate, they'll still give you a printed ticket with the unreserved seating message on it so saving money on printing costs can't be the reason they've done it?

Highly unlikely? Thats an understatement. I would imagine that the entire crowd will be able to fit in the West Stand upper tier, then you'd be able to speak to everyone at the match.

The only way you will be able to speak to the person next to you at this game is by the use of a megaphone.

I can't believe people are this fussy about "their" seats. Go and sit somewhere else for a change. Ring your family and friends and say "hey, fancy going and getting drenched and pissing in a gutter in the west stand?" If you NEED to sit in your usual seat and 1 of the 344 people at the game happen to be sat in it and you have to, for some reason, go and sit at the opposite end of the stand (maybe in a sulk or something), then I'm sure you can get your fortnightly fix of Barnsley-bashing by returning at half-time to see the people you speak to (if you can fight your way through the tens of people in the way).

If someone wants to go to to this game but are put off by a possibility of not being able to sit in "their" seat, they need to take a look at themselves. . . .

It won't put me off, it doesn't particularly bother me that much (though I don't really understand the reason behind it) but I think there will be some that it does put off.

Surely though if they decide to go with reserved seating then they need to print a ticket for every seat in the ground, just in case somebody wants that specific seat. Unreserved they only print a certain amount (maybe batches of 2000 or so). So saving money is probably the reason. Can't believe people have an issue with this.
