Re: Yes some things were told in confidence Well, from the outside looking in, that is just bizarre. Why tell some fans stuff and not others? Or was it a case of "having to be there"?!! To be honest it's just another thing in a long list of things that makes me non-plussed about BFC. Losing interest at an alarming rate.
Re: I certainly wouldn't call into question I know that but you can just imagine Nudger stood in the west stand doing the birdy dance while shouting random things from the meeting can't you. You know he wouldn't do it really but there's that little bit of your imagination that sees him doing it or riding a childs bike up and down grove street while shouting 'The TV's are coming, the TVs are coming'. Or perhaps i've just got an overactive imagination, I mean I do imagine you to be brad pitt sometimes.
Did anyone ask The Don why they can't sit in their own season ticket seat for the cup game? I'm kind of hoping The Don pissed himself laughing.
Re: Yes some things were told in confidence Theres obviously things that he wouldn't want posting on the internet or being passed around as second hand info - the last meeting he mentioned budget, this some operating costs and sensitive info RE contracts etc. It's that I that I think he wanted to remain confidential. The rest that I posted was mainly available anyway.
Sorry Fiona But if someone tells you something in confidence, I assume you won't betray them? We gave our word at the Summer meeting and again tonight to Don we wouldn't divulge certain information. I don't understand why that's a problem.
Re: He seems a decent bloke Completely forgot about the Butterfield thing. So the budget was reduced and then basically upped back up due to player sales then, that makes a lot more sense. I wonder how you could possibly guarantee 1500 extra people. It's easy to say that it will probably happen but I can't see how anyone could ever guarentee it. Shame really because I think it would be achievable.
Re: Yes some things were told in confidence Without knowing what these confidential things actually are (though being able to guess) I would assume that Don would happily tell all Barnsley fans if he could but he just doesn't want it putting on the internet because then other clubs would get wind of it which could harm the club. I don't think it's anything about telling certain fans and not others its just that its impossible to tell everyone without alerting other clubs. Just my take on it anyway.
Re: He seems a decent bloke I think the prices have already driven many away and they'll struggle to get them back with a team battling relegation every year. They'll need a marketing genius now...
Re: Really? No I can't understand why the club has an open meeting, and then gives away confidential information to people who could quite easily pass it on. It's either confidential or it's not?
I would think if everything was put on here word for word, then I would guess that we wouldn't be invited to another one
Re: He seems a decent bloke And that in a nutshell is our problem - at the minute I don't think we're in a 'speculate to accumulate' position. And without a sale this summer to cover the drop in sky the budget will obviously decrease.
So who was there tonight? Had to leave before the end so couldn't introduce myself. Know biglil, deetee, funnyfella and met Jay on the way out but didn't recognise anyone else.
Re: Really? But no one IS passing it on. Nor did we in August. Yet because we're not passing it on and betraying their confidence, we're coming in for a bit of stick over it. Speaking personally, no amount of whiny, snidey comments posted on here by others will get me to spill the beans.
Re: Really? I don't mean to sound rude, but it's obvious to me. If you were to see any of the people who were there tonight at a match, in Asda or the pub, they could tell you. What the club don't want is info re release clauses, wages, transfer fees etc posting on an internet forum that can be seen by anyone from any club. Don was very open in the first meeting, and divulged some things which as a simply a fan I felt privileged to be told, he certainly had no obligation to tell supporters. I couldn't make it tonight but believe some of it was in the same tone. If people want the sensitive info, they either need to go to the meeting, or ask someone who went off here, ie in person, phone etc.
