Especially since we are in the bottom 3, and Ipswich pulling away. Can't see us beating long ball Wednesday with our laughable defence.
in the cold light of day that was a smashing result and the commitment and performance today was heartwaming and welcome.
No. A point away at Leicester, shocking. If we'd drawn 0-0 you'd presumably be happier, but you get no more points, no better goal difference, but lose out on two goals scored - the third ranking criteria. I'd take 2-2 any day - and whilst I agree we are quite poor defensively, the fact is that we are quite poor generally in this division, the point today is a bonus. And hugely positive as it shows we've still got the heart to compete - against teams often a lot better on paper. Today's stats - 25 shots versus 5 or thereabouts? Massive positive today, just gutting that we came so close to a win. Next week is the bigger game for many obvious reasons, and it must be won. Today proves that we have the ability to score more than one - it's been a while - and we might not be great at the back but Sheffield Wednesday are not Leicester. We are, in my book, markedly better than sheffield wednesday, and should have more confidence. We will win next week, as long as the confidence to get it down and play is not ruined by the pressure of the occasion. New manager for them or not.
There is no reason why we can't win any team in this division, home or away. And today we were in the driving seat and we gave it away, as usual.
