ferdinand assaulted by a fan. How many times have man city fans been filmed throwing things at players or otherwise trying to get onto the pitch in an aggresive manner? I'm sure it must be into double figures now.

Why? Leeds never got one - or Wednesday for not controlling the fans ! Then again maybe they should - I've been to city and had coins rain down on us for the whole of the game and being chased at the end. Horrible fans!!

Can't defend morons like that but Man Utd fans seem to have short memories, when it comes to fans causing trouble.

What about the coin that hit Bellamy in the league cup semi at Old Trafford a few years ago?

Its not just happening at the Manchester clubs Supertyke. Remember Battle of the Buffet at Highbury and Sweetcorn gate at our very own Oakwell and lots of incidents elsewhere since. If I was a player and I saw who had thrown something at me I'd find it very hard not to give it to them Cantona stylee
