Just seen Keith giving the club his usual good publicity on Sky Sports News, good work Keith you really are an asset to the club especially for a positive public approach!!
Said that he expected to get the sack because "that's what Barnsley do". Went on to say that people need to change (I assume those running the club) or Barnsley is doomed. Real upbeat stuff.
Can we free up a grand for media training in the January window? Comments like that knock the stuffing out of the home support ahead of a huge game. He needs to consider motivating the fans may just help motivate his players and subsequently save his neck.
Why does he say this stuff? Keith Hill had the fans on side for the most part, even after the 2nd half of last year and through a lot of this bad run, but by being so pessimistic and making excuses ALL THE TIME hes made us lose patience with him. If he had some fighting talk or tried to motivate the fans and players with his interviews I would be a lot more positive about our unfortunate situation. Were on his side after all. Keith needs to learn to be nice.
if hes expecting the sack then lets just do it a get rid of his childish inappropiate comments. and get a manager that actually wants to be here.
(no idea why it never lets me reply to an administrators comment... oh well) re Gally's comment... He's getting more and more desperate. His comments are getting more abstract and are highly misguided. Akin to the head of BHP telling knock knock jokes at the committee hearing to senators following the oil spill disaster. There is a time for the Keith Hill show, but not before our biggest game of the season when he should be pulling on the support of the fan base and uniting us to all pull in the same direction. And after a good back to the walls point at Leicester (although disappointing we couldnt hang on another minute). I want Hill to succeed, have done from day 1 and the strategy makes sense in the best part. But his implentation of it and mostly his communication and explanation of it is woeful and highly damaging to the clubs future. The manager should have an ability to inspire everyone, fans and owners included. But he seems unrelenting in the tactic of divide and conquer and its just not good enough.
legend in his own head...........ITS NOT ABOUT YOU MR.HILL............we were here before you and will STILL be here after you,ve gone................
Seriously Keith, with comments like that you've totally lost my support. I just can't be bothered anymore. You might be a manager Keith, but you're certainly no leader.
I'm with you I think that is the final straw for me he's a massive embarrassment to the club and brings nothing but negativity with his comments and general body language at games! I think he knows that he's not far from the sack and is now using every opportunity to protect himself by blaming everyone but himself, just for a change! Who else has ever had the supporters not calling for his head after the last 12 months we've had??? Not just at our club but any club!! But rather than use that as a positive he puts yet another negative outlook on the club!!
Was it this interview ? http://www1.skysports.com/news/12040/8330144/ Cos if so I'm sorry but I don't see why it's caused so much outrage.
Looks like he said similar here! No dithering required! http://www.southyorkshirefootballnews.co.uk/index.php/hill-slams-sacking-culture-at-barnsley/
Re: Was it this interview ? I just don't know why he's talking about it 2 days before a vital derby match. Why the **** isn't he galvanising the fans and building the team up in to a winning mentality? Instead he's going on about BFC sacking managers etc etc blah blah. I want to hear something that makes me feel passionate and inspired heading in to a relegation dogfight and game against our local rivals. Learn how to 'lead' Keith.
Re: Was it this interview ? Probably because the interviewers persistently ask him questions about it and selectively edit the interview. SSN wouldn't have bothered showing owt else
Re: Was it this interview ? I dunno, perhaps he was asked a question about his future ? He's on the website saying match-related stuff. I don't know, he has his ways, I don't pay much heed these days, cos a lot of it's quite surreal.
Re: Was it this interview ? He should know better by now. If he's asked a question on his future then he should be able to side step it, not get drawn in to a monologue about BFC's history and his future. I'm over it. I think.
Nowt wrong with that at all, folk are way too sensitive and read into things stuff that is simply not there. He's right we have sacked too many managers, mainly because we have employed too many wrong uns. 6 weeks ago we had Keith lined up for every vacant job in Lancashire and there were some crying in their beer, resigned to losing him - who are now calling for his head. There are loads of things need addressing, not least the results - but on this one he's absolutely right. If he's to be sacked - do everybody a favour and get it over with.
