    Hi All,

I am looking at a surprise present for the Inlaws, and come across a dining on a Steam train experiance, and was wondering if anyone had done this before and is it good.

i dont know if this is worth it but it's only £109 for 2 people including a 6 course meal and the trip is about 5 hours.

    Cheers

    Kev b

    Would recommend it

There is something that feels good about eating good food and drinking nice wine when on an old-fashioned train.

I was lucky enough to do the British Pullman from Victoria to Folkestone, food was tremendous, service first class and I got hammered on fine red wine. Then we had to slum it on the Orient Express to Venice for a couple of days. Amazing experience - though I never understood how James Bond managed a shag on it, there was not even room for a w*nk (I know, I tried).

Tremendous fun - I have been a lucky lad ! I would thoroughly recommend it.

    Sounds a bargain

Been on North Yorks Moors plus meal

Also the "quasi" Orient Express in UK that cost £500 for two!!!

Good day out and something different

I've done it on the Watercress line in Hampshire - its good fun and the food was pretty good - the only drawback is its not a long track so we went up and down the line a few times - once per course I seem to remember
it would definitely be an improvement to have a longer journey so the scenery isnt in a loop
