I know we've discussed the Mido situation (almost) to death, but Hill suggests here that he got his fingers burnt a bit, that maybe Mido wasn't entirely honest about his intentions/commitment to the club.

Well, hang on a minute, what was the reaction of 90 per cent of people when we first signed him? (not just Barnsley fans) - 'this isn't going to end well'.

Hill bangs on about knowing the game blah blah blah. He walked into this one when even a blind man could see it coming!

“It has been a difficult last couple of weeks with respect to what has occurred via Twitter."

Really? If I said publically that I wanted people to die and burn then I would be sacked for gross misconduct. Why hasnt the club done so?

Had you known it was a £4k per week gamble would you have said the same thing?

There is an element of risk in every signing, true. You can never guarantee it will work out. But this one was a HUGE gamble in every sense. To then, six months down the line, kind of admit he went into it blind is... annoying.

Who else could we have got instead? Presumably someone who would have played more than 27 minutes by now?

Saying mido wasn't fit is like saying Jimmy saville was a little bit kinky.

Premiership club selling out every week.
Struggling championship club with low gates who's manager cries in the media every week about how little money he's got.

I don't really see the comparison.

Ido think the club should refund money to anyone who bought a Mido Shirt though

There will probably be a few more leaving by mutual consent if he is allowed to keep recycling players at the rate he his.

Wonder how many extra season tickets we sold because of him. A couple of hundred maybe? Covering his wages perhaps. Only speculating like

How does that work, isn't the club loads of season tickets worse off this year!
Quite possibly the worse bit of transfer business we have ever done.

Firstly, I didn't think it was the way to go and was a bizarre signing. But then again I don't dismiss other signings as "lower league *****" as soon as they arrive.

My point is quite simple, some people who had decided not to renew or were wavering might have gone "ooh, box office signing, maybe we'll do alright this year".

Maybe two or three people but that's it. I very much doubt there were more than a handful of people considering that the club was announcing how excellent season ticket sales were before he signed and how we had sold more than previous years and yet after he signed there were less season ticket holders than last year.
