Effort and commitment couldn't be faulted. But that isn't enough to win football matches and, in my opinion, we look like a relegation outfit.

I agree with you Big Lil. It saddens me to say but I think we will finish in the bottom three, maybe even bottom. I thought we were the better side for most of the game, we lacked that bit of quality in the final third. Birmingham only threatened from set pieces and we were stupid enough to give away some silly silly free kicks. If only Dagnall had scored at the start of the second half and then Davies the penalty it could have been a whole lot different on here tonight!

its as if the players have accepted that if things go wrong the opposition will score,
its time hill stopped protecting the mistakes of the back four and highlighted their mistakes now and again is fair enough but game after game is unacceptable. fek knows about the forward play in any other team these players are shooting on sight.
i know hill buys and picks the players etc but its time they took some responsibility imo.

I thought we were the better of two poor teams

But every time Birmingham got a set piece situation, I thought we'd concede. An inability to convert what very few chances we get, along with a lack of clean sheets, means we're unlikely to move out of the relegation places.

That is just it in the last 2 home games both sides have been rubbish, we looked slightly less rubbish that the opposition again and fecking lost agin!!

I think I have seen 4 wins in 2012 ,yes a full year and apparently we will be alreight!

You have an opinion that's usually quite reasonable than most on here. I don't post much these days but I thought we were dire today, for the following reasons: -

    1) We can't defend corners and free kicks. This applies to Luke Steele too who arguably could be blamed for both today's goals and that against Wednesday.

    2) We pass the ball about too much in non-dangerous areas, without attempting a killer pass or a cross which might create a chance. This goes on until we inevitably lose possession.

    3) On the odd occasions when we do get a cross in, we only have 1 or 2 players in the box, so it's odds on the defenders.

    4) Players get into shooting positions but delay their shots for some reason, resulting in defenders getting in position to block them.

    5) We give too many free kicks away, which together with (1) is one of the main reasons why we are at the bottom.

An incident just before half time summed up the problem for me. We got a free kick on the halfway line. There was about 30 seconds to go before half time. If we had got the ball directly in the box, we might have created a chance. Even if we had lost possession, there was no time for them to break. So what do we do? We take a short free-kick, then pass the ball around until the ref blows for half time.

    Absolute garbage today, going down.

birmingham set themselves up to do exactly what they did, they knew we'd just pass the ball about without hardly ever being a threat and that it was nailed on if they got 3 or 4 attacks they'd score.

I believe one of them was spotted hovering around the training ground. I'm off to Germany tomorrow so I'll keep my eyes peeled.
