Sean O'Driscoll has been sacked as Nottingham Forest manager after five months in charge.

The decision to relieve the 55-year-old of his duties came hours after their 4-2 Championship win against Leeds .

"He can count himself unlucky to have lost his job with the team just one point away from the top six," Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi said.

"With the January transfer window approaching, we feel it's the right time to make a change."

The former Republic of Ireland international was appointed on 19 July, days after Steve Cotterill had been sacked.

He leaves Forest with them in eighth place, having collected 36 points from 24 games. In total, Forest won nine league games during his time in charge, drawing nine and losing six.

"We have a responsibility to look to the future for this great club because we have huge ambitions for it," added Al Hasawi.

"We knew when we bought the club in the summer that it would take time for the players we bought in to settle but that process has taken longer than we anticipated.

"We feel we have developed a really strong squad of players but are still searching for consistency in terms of team performance, underlined by the fact that we have not won more than two games in succession in the Championship this season."

    More to follow.

He can certainly count himself unlucky to have chosen a job with a club run by an absolute t0sser. Just shows the lunacy of people running clubs these days. How on earth can he say S O'D is not the right man now, after only 5 months, when the club are actually doing well. Surely, that translates as "I employed him 5 months ago and I feel that I made the wrong decision because in practise I know **** all about football and haven't a fecking clue what I am doing".

Just to follow that up, I hope to god that Forest bomb now in the second half of the season and I hope that SOD was on a 10 year contract and fecks them for every penny of it.

SOD goes onto my list, with Steve Davis, Paul Tisdale, Martin Allen, Gary Megson and Sir Bob.

I'd happily take any of them over King Keith. He's had his chance, and unfortunately after a decent start (up until December 2011) he's got things wrong ever since, and I have zero faith in his ability to turn it around.
